The Manly Sea Eagles announced on Wednesday the gun pairing of Jake Trbojevic and Addin Fonua-Blake will have clean-out shoulder surgeries.

The recovery time is expected to be four months, therefore putting the early rounds of the 2020 NRL season in doubt for both men.

This may no put a slight dampener on what looks to be enthralling encounters between the Storm and the Roosters in the first two rounds.

NRL.com said both men pushed through pain to finish off the 2019 as Des Hasler's team were plagued by injury.

Trbjojevic and Fonua-Blake follow on from Tom Trbojevic (pectoral), Joel Thompson (arm), Curtis Sironen (foot) and Teniela Paseka (knee) who all had surgery to add their seasons.

Manase Fainu is another player missing after shoulder surgery as he also battles criminal charges.

Fainu is declining allegations he stabbed a man in Sydney's south west.

He was denied bail as he faces another bail hearing set for Monday, November 11

  1. This is fantastic news for the World Champion Back2Back Sydney Rooster Premiers, who indeed play Manly in round 2.
This will be a walk in the park.

  2. The roosters will still be reeling from the loss of mitchell by round 2 that manly will kick their backsides with their blacktown squad.

  3. Manly over acheived last season with a dud 5/8 in Walker who is a centre, The Turbo Fullback will get smashed against the Worlds best pack and the injury prone lad will be counting his 1.2 m coins from the sideline for a few months in recovery.

  4. So true back to back, this game will be easier than the bye.
Almost like playing Soufths 30-6 which is easier than the spare weekend during Origin ahahahah.

  5. Hahahha, see how different it’s going to be when you got a guy like Kyle Flannagan in your halves. Totally overrated. We shall breeze past y’all.

  6. I did here a rumor that Sydney will be resting Grand Final hero Morris, who caught at least 20 Canberra bombs out of 20 in the GF, will be rested against Manly, as last season when he played on the Brooky Goat Track, he twised his ankle and it ruled him out for 10 weeks.
