Queensland winger Valentine Holmes will be the Maroons first-choice goal-kicker on Wednesday night, after coach Kevin Walters confirmed the news to the media on Monday.

Holmes was in a battle with Storm young gun Cameron Munster, but a kick-off at training saw Holmes handed the goalkicking duties for the Origin opener.

During the press conference, Walters also confirmed the availability of Ben Hunt, Josh McGuire and Billy Slater, who were also struggling with niggles throughout the past week.

"They're all going well and on target. They all trained yesterday. We've got one training session to get through obviously with the captain's run but we expect to have a fully fit team on Wednesday night," Walters told reporters.
