Scans have revealed Leilani Latu's season is over after the Panthers prop suffered a broken jaw in the win over the Bulldogs at Pepper Stadium on Thursday.

The 24-year-old will undergo surgery in the coming days and will be out of action for at least 10 weeks.

Latu played 19 games for the Panthers in 2017. He ran for more than 1200 metres, made 341 tackles and scored two tries.

Latu's immediate replacement in the Panthers side will be revealed on Tuesday when coach Anthony Griffin names his team to face Wests Tigers.
