Melbourne Storm youngster Scott Drinkwater has suffered a suspected torn pec in his team's trial match against North Queensland on Saturday and could miss up to three months.

Surgery for the 21-year old could mean up to 12 weeks on the sidelines, who was in line to take over Billy Slater's vacant No.1 jersey.

In other injury news, Eels duo Manu Ma’u and Robert Jennings will be sweating on scans after both going down in their team's win over the Panthers.

Ma'u suffered suspected MCL injury could miss up to six weeks, while Jennings also hurt his knee.

Sharks centre Josh Dugan and Dragons prop Paul Vaughan both suffered concussion in their respective clashes but neither are considered serious.

Wests Tigers veteran Chris Lawrence broke his jaw at training in New Zealand in the lead up to Saturday's trial match against the Warriors.

Lawrence will undergo surgery to face a lengthy stint on the sideline and is not expected to line-up round one.
