Eels winger Blake Ferguson is unlikely to return from a knee infection this week.

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur revealed the Origin star is still in hospital after undergoing a minor knee cleanout and will miss Saturday's clash with the Warriors at Bankwest Stadium.

“He’s got an infection so I doubt he’ll play next week,” Arthur told reporters after his side's loss to Manly.

“He’s in hospital at the moment trying to get on top of that. But he won’t play next week.”

Asked if his side missed Ferguson in the Sea Eagles loss, Arthur said: “We do, but he’s not going to make the tackles in the middle.

“We got to be able to bounce back. We’ve got enough players there to do a job.”

Parramatta need some bigger forwards they got rolled yesterday, they had no props on the bench and it killed them need to bring Alvaro and Kaufusi back up

  2. Alvaro is not the answer. He is slower than the forwards we are currently using.
What we need is a new defensive coach as Kidwell is a joke.
The only change I would make is start Niukore, drop Ma’u and put Kafusi on the bench.
Ma’u has lost his pace and is a major liability in defence. Until we get Fergo, Jennings and Terepo back we will be easy beats. We will win 2 out of our 4 remaining home games and won’t win any of our away games as we have proven we can’t win on the road. We will drop out of the 8 and mis the finals.
