Valentine Holmes has finished up his trials and tests over in America and is now headed back to Australia.

The former Cronulla man has impressed during his time with the NFL’s International Pathway Program according to his agent, Chris Orr.

"After all the testing we got a lot of good feedback," Orr told the Sydney Morning Herald. "There is a lot of interest in him. Without saying too much more, we will make a decision in the next week or so."

Orr has said that Holmes’ return to Australia is for him to enjoy a break before making a call on his playing future.

"It's no different to what Jordan [Mailata] did," Orr said. "It's the end of the program so he is going home to have a break.

"He will have a break for a few weeks and make a decision while we're still in Sydney."

Should Holmes be unsuccessful in his NFL venture then a return to the NRL could be on the cards.

Teams like Cronulla and North Queensland have left roster spots open for the potential signing of the 23-year-old.

Salary cap issues could cause a problem for the Sharks who are believed to have the rights to Holmes should he return.

  1. Cronulla may have the rights but if they don’t have the Cap space it don’t make a jot of difference.

  2. Just can’t help yourself woodduck, there you go again, comment on Souths that has nothing to do with them, that loss must have really got to you big time, let it go man, also notice Easts now want to abandon the SCG cause they reckon its not fan friendly and now going to Parra stadium, where’s the loyalty to you fans there, all 80 of them, thats heaps west of where Souths play, so your argument about Souths is now in question , your mob even worse, everything you say Woodduck is a lie, a complete fabrication of your imagination, no doubt we will get some sort of statistic related answer to justfy your reasoning, give it up woodpecker.

  3. Hes now just waiting to see what offers come from the U.S.
Id say he will be offered a spot on a practice teams roster, & if hes serious, he will take it.
That will be his way into the NFL.
If it all goes pearshaped, its off to the cowboys 2020, or this year if Sharks work a deal of some sort.,
