Dolphins fans will breathe a sigh of relief following Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow's latest comments on Herbie Farnworth's future in Redcliffe.
The club has a bunch of stars on the cusp of free agency status, including Farnworth and Tabuai-Fidow and Jack Bostock, who are off-contract at the end of 2027, meaning they can speak with rivals from November 1 this year.
Farnworth has reached new heights in 2027 and established himself as one of the best players in the competition.
Despite conjecture on his future, 'Hammer' has given a telling clue where Farnworth's future lies.
"He is going to stay,” Tabuai-Fidow said to News Corp.
“Herbie has gone to heights that no-one else in the comp has got to. He's obviously one of the best centres in the game, if not the best centre.
“I'm hoping they'll get him over the line and I think he wants to stay, too.
“It's something cool that we've connected on the field and we do it here at training, too.
“It (their attacking union) is something that's still building ... it's exciting times for ahead.”
For Tabuai-Fidow, the QLD Maroons star is keen to have his future sorted following the end of the season, while the club is on the cusp of a Grand Final appearance in only their fourth season to date.
“What we're building here is something special," he said.
“The team that we've built, we've got a close connection here and it's in Queensland, too, and I'd like to stay in Queensland.
“Just the lifestyle here, it suits me ... I've loved it since day one and moving down here.
“I've told my manager to just leave it (contract talks) a bit while I can concentrate on these next couple of weeks and hopefully get to a grand final.
“But I'm happy here. I love playing with Herbie and these guys. I don't want to leave.”
Bostock, who also reached new heights under Kristian Woolf this year, and made his State of Origin debut for NSW, also addressed his future after speculation bubbled away that he was looking for an exit.
“I do want to stay, that's the plan, 100 per cent,” Bostock said.
“There's a lot happening with contracts now, and there's obviously a lot of players here that are off-contract, so that's all getting sorted out now and it will be done in the coming future.
“I'm mates with all of them, so it's definitely somewhere where I want to play a lot of footy.”
The Dolphins have had a well-earned week-off after defeating the Warriors in the first week of the finals.
They will host the Roosters at a sold-out Suncorp Stadium on Friday to book the first spot in the Grand Final.
