Grammy Award-winning artist Macklemore will headline this year's NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final pre-game show.

The US artist will perform his chart-topping hit 'Glorious' at ANZ Stadium on October 1, along with a number of his other hits.

Macklemore's show will be his only performance during a short trip to Australia following the release of his new album, Gemini, on September 22.

Macklemore has had a number of massive hits both in Australia and the US, including Thrift Shop, Downtown, Same Love and Can't Hold Us.

A spectacular light and pyro show will accompany the performance, in line with the NRL's theme for the decider: "Let's Make It Grand.".

And in an NRL first, the act was chosen after a special focus group involving fans. Macklemore was one of the leading choices in a vote by fans on who they wanted most to perform prior to the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.

"We are excited to showcase Macklemore's unique music live for our fans," NRL Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Abdo said.

"He is one of the world's leading artists at the moment and popular with Australians and most importantly our fans. It is a real coup for him to be performing exclusively for us during his only show in Australia on the back of the release of his new album.

"The fact that we were able to bring an act who was specifically requested by a fan focus group is something really special.

"Our Grand Final Entertainment will once again ensure that the biggest match of the season is a spectacular event not to be missed."

Every fan who attends the event will also receive a limited edition Brand 47 Telstra Premiership Grand Final cap. The one-of-a-kind cap is only available to ticket purchasers. Great seats remain available from $90.

The 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final is supported by the NSW Government, through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.
