Gold Coast Titans playmaker Ashley Taylor is set to re-sign with the club after verbally agreeing to a new long-term deal.

Channel Seven is reporting that 22-year old is poised to ink a new deal that will see him remain at the club until the end of 2021.

The Brisbane Broncos had been eyeing their former NYC star as a replacement for the departing Ben Hunt and the Titans look to be moving quickly to lock up one of the brightest young talents in the game.

Taylor's halves partner Kane Elgey is also off contract at the end of next season and there have been reports that the North Queensland Cowboys are keen to try to lure him north as the long-term replacement for Johnathan Thurston.

With Taylor all but locked up it seems, the Titans will no doubt now turn their attention to keeping their young halves together.
