The NRL has confirmed that Ashley Klein and Adam Gee will referee the two Semi-Finals this weekend, with Gerard Sutton and Grant Atkins overlooked.

Klein, who refereed last year's Grand Final and all three games of this year's State of Origin series, was always expected to be selected for the Semi-Finals, and is likely well ahead for the Grand Final in a few weeks' time.

Who he was joined by remained a mystery, but the NRL has confirmed Gee will edge out the more experienced Sutton and Atkins to officiate.

Gee will take charge of the first game between the Roosters and Sharks, while Klein will officiate at Eden Park in Auckland on Sunday as the Warriors clash with the Knights.

Chris Butler will run the bunker for that game, but in a surprise, he will not do both matches, with Wyatt Raymond the other selected official.

Phil Henderson, Tyson Brough, Matt Noyen and Daniel Luttringer have won the race to be named on the sidelines.

In the NRLW's first week finals, Belinda Sharpe and Kasey Badger will officiate in the middle, with an all-female group of touch judges in Karra-Lee Nolan, Izzy Davidson, Rochelle Tamarua and Tori Wilkie named.

Liam Kennedy and Todd Smith will control the bunker during those games.
