Former Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma has agreed to a two-year deal with York City Knights following a loan period at the club during 2026.
Nofoaluma made the switch to York from Newcastle Thunder for this season, after his previous club Halifax Panthers folded early in the year.
The Samoan international had a strong try-scoring rate in the NRL and made a name for himself for his ability to cross out wide.
The prolific four-point finisher currently sits as the top try scorer of all time for the Tigers.
Nofoaluma made his presence felt in the NRL after ten seasons at the joint venture club, scoring 100 tries for the Tigers in 192 games.
He also spent a brief stint at the Melbourne Storm on loan in 2022, playing six games for four tries.
Nofoaluma continued his impressive try-scoring mood this season, scoring 15 tries in 21 games in Knights colours.
“Grateful for the journey, ready for what's next. See you all in 2027," said Nofoaluma on his two-year deal in a York club statement.
Head coach Mark Applegarth was full of praise for what Nofoaluma brings to his side.
"David on his day is one of the best wingers in the league," he said.
"He's a big name that's been on a fantastic journey to get back to the top of the sport in terms of club level.
"A great character to have around, I really enjoy working with David and I think he's still got his best rugby in front of him."
Nofoaluma will have some familiar faces from the NRL join him next season.
Cronulla Sharks co-captain Cameron McInnes and St George Illawarra Dragons forward Blake Lawrie will make the move to the Northern Hemisphere to bolster Applegarth's chances of a maiden Super League title.
