Contracts have never meant less when it comes to rugby league.

Despite recently re-signing with the Gold Coast Titans, fullback turn five-eighth turn centre AJ Brimson is being linked with a move away from the club.

Last year Brimson extended his deal with the club, meaning he is under contract until the end of the 2030 season.

Despite this, talks are that the Titans are open to letting their prize asset move on, with a view to investing his massive contract elsewhere.

I am a huge AJ Brimson fan. I believe he's the best fullback at the Titans, but unfortunately his versatility may be his undoing.

If I'm the Titans, I'm allowing Brimson to move on. Jayden Campbell has been re-signed as the long term marquee half, while Keano Kini has been favoured in the fullback role.

If, and potentially when, Brimson does become available, there will be no shortage of clubs lining up for his services. For different reasons also.

Here are five potential landing spots for AJ Brimson.

3. Canterbury Bulldogs

The Bulldogs link is what kicked off this discussion.

Despite re-signing Conor Tracey a few weeks ago, the Dogs surely realise they need better in the number one jersey.

Tracey is another I believe cops an unfair amount of criticism, or at least I thought so prior to his "effort" on Nicho Hynes in Magic Round.

The Dogs lack spark and they lack points. They need a creative fullback rather than a ball runner.

Brimson could add 20 tries to the Dogs, if allowed. I maintain the Dogs issues stretch far beyond their fullback, bit Brimson would be a much better fit.

The Dogs seems to have cap space available, especially with players moving on at the end of the year.

Brimson's try creations would dramatically and instantly change the Bulldogs set up. He would take pressure off Lachlan Galvin and Matt Burton.

Tracey was good last year, with 12 try assists at fullback. Brimson had 13 despite having a full time position, in a far inferior team.
