Contracts have never meant less when it comes to rugby league.

Despite recently re-signing with the Gold Coast Titans, fullback turn five-eighth turn centre AJ Brimson is being linked with a move away from the club.

Last year Brimson extended his deal with the club, meaning he is under contract until the end of the 2030 season.

Despite this, talks are that the Titans are open to letting their prize asset move on, with a view to investing his massive contract elsewhere.

I am a huge AJ Brimson fan. I believe he's the best fullback at the Titans, but unfortunately his versatility may be his undoing.

If I'm the Titans, I'm allowing Brimson to move on. Jayden Campbell has been re-signed as the long term marquee half, while Keano Kini has been favoured in the fullback role.

If, and potentially when, Brimson does become available, there will be no shortage of clubs lining up for his services. For different reasons also.

Here are five potential landing spots for AJ Brimson.

2. Cronulla Sharks

I am firmly of the belief that the NRL community is way too hard on Will Kennedy.

The Sharks fullback is the best value (see, not best player) fullback in the competition. His output, compared to what he is paid, provides super value for Cronulla.

That said, AJ Brimson is the ideal fullback to slot into this Sharks outfit and take them a step further to become legitimate title threats.

I have been pushing this possibility for two years now and I would be very disappointed if Brimson were to become available and the Sharks not at least have that chat.

Brimson adds some much needed speed to the Sharks side, as well as a threat they haven't had in many years.

His contract will be around $500,000 more than Will Kennedy's current deal. That is a huge investment, but one that looks sounds.

The Sharks have a mountain of talent off-contract and need to take a swing if they want to be serious contenders.

Brimson could be that swing!
