Robbie Farah has announced his retirement from representative football, with Lebanon's loss to Fiji on Saturday night at Leichhardt Oval being his last appearance.

The 35-year-old hooker revealed the news through an Instagram post, highlighting a need for Lebanon to develop their next generation of stars.

He discussed the internal crisis during the week where the players threatened to protest against the nation's governing body by covering the logos on their jerseys.

Farah stated: "Been a tough week and an even tougher night on the field tonight. Plenty of good kids on show that will gain plenty from the experience.  Time to pass the baton over to them. Very proud of my heritage and representing our people with pride and passion. Was an honour to do it for the final time tonight".

  1. Yes, I remember 2014 like yesterday when Souths gave a warm retirement farewell to SBW and Antonio Minestrone who both couldn’t get out of there quick enough after Ben Teo and Sam Burgess minced them.
