The Parramatta Eels season looks set to get worse before it gets better with Jarryd Hayne, Bevan French and Kane Evans all ruled out for a number of weeks due to injury.

Already without 2017 sensation Clinton Gutherson, the Eels have been dealt a major blow with Hayne and French both injured in the loss to the Sharks.

This leaves the club in dire straights at the fullback position and Brad Arthur has been forced to named utility Will Smith in the No. 1 jersey for their Round 4 match against the Wests Tigers.

The club also lost versatile forward Brad Takairangi last week to a fractured eye socket and now Kane Evans will join him in recovery with a rib injury also suffered in the match against the Sharks.

The injuries to the key forwards have created the opportunity for Tony Williams to make his return for the Blue and Gold after he was named on the interchange bench this week.

Arthur has also made another change to the side that has yet to win a game so far in 2018, with Cameron King bumped to the extended bench and Kaysa Pritchard given the starting role at hooker.

The Eels play the Wests Tigers on Monday at ANZ Stadium.
