Spencer Leniu won his fourth premiership ring on Sunday night, but will line up for a new challenge in 2027, with a switch to the Parramatta Eels set to be confirmed.

Leniu has spoken out against the fact he will be moving clubs at various stages during the year, but it's a rumour that has simply refused to go away.

While it was originally tipped that the PNG Chiefs would become his new home, it has been reported in recent times that the Parramatta Eels were keen on his signature.

News Corp are now reporting the news is done, however, the two clubs reached an agreement to not announce the news officially until after the end of the season so as not to disturb from the Roosters' premiership push, which they were successful in on Sunday evening.

Leniu, who sat on the bench for the entirety of the 80 minutes in last weekend's preliminary final against the Dolphins, played a short but impactful stint during the grand final, pushing the Roosters onto the front foot in a game they dominated on the stats sheet, but ultimately only won by a point.

His move to the Eels will likely see an increased role on what he has had at the Roosters in 2027, although he could still play from the bench if the blue and gold are able to re-sign Junior Paulo, with those negotiations ongoing.

The report suggests the Eels see him as a big part of their future though, with a four-year deal through to the end of 2030 likely to be agreed upon.

Parramatta have been desperate to add to their engine room, and have pulled out all the stops to secure Leniu, who will join likely Paulo, and also a returning J'maine Hopgood in the front-row next year, with Jack Williams likely to continue at lock.

Parramatta have a host of young players working through their ranks as well, and with the arrival of Jaydn Su'A to bolster their second-row, will be confident of climbing the ladder in 2027 as Jason Ryles continues in his attempt to turn the struggling club around.
