The North Queensland Cowboys have confirmed contract extensions for rising stars Archie Mesritz and Fanafou Seve.

Both players were part of the NRLQ under-20 grand final winning side in recent times, and are now locked in to remain at the Cowboys where they will progress towards first-grade.

Of the duo, it's clear the Cowboys see a bright future for Mesritz, who has signed through to the end of 2030.

It's unclear at this stage whether he is progressing to the development squad and then Top 30, or straight into the Top 30. Zero Tackle have left inquiries with the Cowboys, but no response has been received at the time of publication.

Originally from the Central Coast of NSW, Mesritz played junior rugby union growing up in Brisbane before moving to league where he joined the Cowboys program in 2025.

He has wasted no time getting up to speed, winning the Mal Meninga Cup and NRLQ in his first season, with the fullback possessing high rugby league IQ and a strong running game.

Seve, on the other hand, has been signed through to the end of 2028, with both of those seasons to come on the development list.

Another NRLQ winner who played a big part to that team's success during the campaign from the front row, Seve will have opportunities to impress over the next two years before pushing for a Top 30 spot.

Seve is a former NSW under-19 representative and already has eight games in the QLD Cup to his name.
