Former Titan Luke Capewell has pleaded that the Gold Coast sign his younger brother Kurt.

Kurt has spent the past four seasons at Cronulla and developed into one of the most improved players of the competition.

His impressive form was rewarded with spending time in the the Queensland Origin camp earlier this season.

And Luke thinks he could blossom further at the Titans.

“Kurty is awesome. I would love to see him up in Queensland somewhere,” Luke told The Gold Coast Bulletin.

“I think they’re mad if they don’t sign him.

“He’s a Queensland boy, I think he would thrive at a club like that.”

The duo are natives of Charleville but made made their names in the NRL in Sydney.

Luke broke through at the Rabbitohs as a fullback or five-eighth, but admits he was homesick and keen to return north of the border.

“I was a bit homesick down in Sydney, I was still pretty young,” he said.

“I definitely wanted to be in Queensland, I’m not a fan of Sydney.

“It was a short time (at the Titans), it was only one season but definitely one I enjoyed and will remember.”

  1. These are exactly the signings the titans would need to make if they want to be a finals contender in 2-3 years.

Capewell is good consistent and is playing better the any of the Titans current edge forwards and should one of many cheap options as they try and turn this roster over as much as possible.

If I were the Titans I would be trying to get rid of Nathan Peats, Ryan James, Leilani Latu, Bryce Cartwright, and Kevin Proctor and try and add good qld depth options like Kurt Capewell, Alex Glenn, Luke Bateman, Billy Brittain, Hymel Hunt, Marion Seve, And Lloyd Perrett. All these names are no nonsense hard workers which is something they need and with a change of culture at the Titans could really help push them up the ladder.
