Rabbitohs front-rower Dean Britt has signed a two-year deal with Canterbury.

The 25-year old has emerged for South Sydney this season, playing nine NRL matches in a bigger role for the club.

He is the son of former Bulldogs great Darren Britt.

Bulldogs chief executive Andrew Hill was thrilled to secure his services for the short-term future.

"Dean is an excellent forward who will provide another important piece for our forward pack next season. He has shown this year with his performances for the Rabbitohs that he is hard-working and tough and has the attributes that we as a club are looking for to take us forward," he told the club website.

"He has a great background in what the Bulldogs stand for with his father Darren having been such a major part of the club in the 90's and we look forward to welcoming Dean to the Bulldog family next season."

  1. Dean Britt is a dud. Bulldogs are making a mistake signing him to play behind Napa, Tolman and Ogden. The Rabbits picked him up to make up numbers and he has played decent in a good team, you watch him do nothing for the next two years. Think the Rabbits might be after a big name next year. Sua Lowe and SBurgess make up second row, Murray and Cook have Lock and hooker on lock. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a prop incoming. In saying that also wouldn’t be surprised if they went after a fullback too. Johnson Gagai Roberts Burns and Graham currently make up the back line with Allen as cover but if the opportunity comes to upgrade of Johnson they should take it. As a Warriors supporter I hope they don’t look at Hayze Perham cause kid is a gun. Ryan Papenhuyzen is off contract next year and is limited behind Jahrome Hughes that would be a great signing. In terms of a prop Herman Ese’ese could be an option if you get Papy in terms of ability and availability to n the cheap.

  2. MR ED wooddope take a look at wikipedia sydney roosters and they are the club known as the transit lounge before you keep trying to offload this tag that is bestowed to the roosters. Lol

  3. Swa9amuff1n stop disclosing souths plans.
At least you didnt mention a certain English prop coming next year.
MR ED wooddope is stressing out enough as it is.

  4. When it comes to buys i believe it’s the transit rossters who are paying 800k a year for what’s turned out to be a dud by the name of Crighton lol.

  5. Good luck Dean.
Souths developed you into a good player.
Hopefully you will ho well under a handy coach unlike Angus Crighton who we developed into an origin level player and within 6 months under Robinson went backwards into a dud.
