South Sydney Rabbitohs forwards Sam and George Burgess have both been charged by the Match Review Committee following their victory over the Canberra Raiders yesterday.

Sam Burgess has been charged with a Grade 2 careless high tackle following an incident involving Aidan Sezer in the 59th minute.

The base penalty for the charge is 150 points, however with loading due to one similar and two non-similar prior offences, in addition to 25 carry over points to be added, an early guilty plea would result in a 238 point charge and a two match suspension.

If Sam challenges the ruling and is found guilty at the panel, the charge would carry 310 points and a three match suspension.

George Burgess has been charged with a Grade 1 careless high tackle charge following a hit on Luke Bateman in the 71st minute.

George will not miss any playing time as a result of the charge.
