Young centres Tom Opacic and Gehamat Shibasaki have today both signed two-year deals with the Brisbane Broncos.

23-year-old Opacic is no stranger to the NRL having now played 19 matches thus far, including 10 in season 2018.

Shibasaki, however, will make his debut against the Cowboys tomorrow night, backed by coach Wayne Bennett.

Bennett this morning revealed the Broncos' reasoning behind securing the young star.

"He is from the under-20s and has come through our system," said Bennett.

"We rate him highly and have just re-signed him.

"He is a big, powerful thing and is very willing."

Shibasaki's debut tomorrow night will prove a poignant one, given he is set to play in the very town he grew up in.
