The Brisbane Broncos have announced that young gun Kodi Nikorima has re-signed with the club for a further two years, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2018 season.

“It’s exciting news for me and my family. I’ve been with the club since I was 12 and obviously it’s been a hard decision to make,” said Nikorima.

“Being named as the utility player off the bench, you learn to play other roles and not just at hooker,” added Nikorima.

“I’ll give every position a crack and it’s all about practice in pre-season.”

Nikorima had been rumoured to be weighing up an offer from the Melbourne Storm to partner Cooper Cronk in the halves but the announcement today has ended that speculation.
