The Broncos have endured a host of injuries in Saturday night's loss to the Knights.
Richie Kennar went down early in the contest with a shoulder problem that may require surgery. He will have a surgical review on Tuesday in a bid to best prepare him for next season.
Anthony Milford also came off early with after hurting his left knee, with the early diagnosis being a lateral meniscus.
Finally, Alex Glenn (knee) is hoping to be available for selection this week.
Broncosโ Injury List
Anthony Milford (knee, indefinite)
Richie Kennar (shoulder, indefinite)
Payne Haas (hamstring, round 15)
Alex Glenn (knee, round 16)
Tom Dearden (ankle, round 20)
Jack Bird (knee, season)
I just wonder how Broncos fans feel about Jack Bird?
Given what he’s done there so far & the endless list of injuries he’s suffered . Also considering the money paid for him. Is he the worst buy ever made by the club?
The Broncos have given the flick to other players , after less time than they’ve given Bird to come good.
Can anyone see the Broncos cutting him loose soon?
If so, would another club buy him here , or would it be the easier life of Super League for him?
I think there is a strong chance the Broncos will move Jack Bird on before next season. It’s a pity he’s had a bad run with injuries, but when a club is paying $1 million a season for a player they are entitled to a return for their money. If I was Anthony Seibold I would give David Fifita a go at right centre. This guy is an explosive runner and very fast for a big man, and could potentially solve a problem in the team’s backline.
Hey EastofDivide, from a fans perspective I really never understood why the Broncos bought Bird in the first place as there did not seem to be a specific position for him to play.
Last year was a right off because of injury, but this season, before his latest injury he was giving 110% in a side that was and still is performing extremely badly, with what I feel is a distinct lack of effort from some players. I would be more than happy for the Broncos to keep Birdy as all I want is for the players to put in and he certainly did that while on the field. Unfortunately for the Broncs, if they donโt take some action and drop Darius and Macca then they are never going to improve. It is really frustrating as a season ticket holder paying good money to see the absolute pathetic efforts put in by the team this year.
Could be that all the Bunnies supporters are right that Seibs is a crap coach, but at the end of the day the Broncos really had to move on from Bennett.
