The New Zealand Warriors and Penrith Panthers have both been forced into late changes for Friday night's enormous top-four clash in Auckland.
The Warriors have lost Te Maire Martin to a hamstring injury sustained at training this week, while Penrith will be without Jack Cogger who has remained in Australia as he prepares for the birth of his child.
Cogger will almost certainly only miss a single week before being available for selection again, while Martin could miss a couple of weeks even with a minor hamstring problem.
It's unclear how bad Martin's issue is at this stage, but he was spotted at training with ice on his hamstring.
The Panthers have replaced Cogger with Blaize Talagi in the halves for the game, while the Warriors have recalled Luke Metcalf for Martin's absence.
Cogger only came into the side last week in place of Talagi who was axed by coach Ivan Cleary.
The head coach made the call due to Talagi's defence, but the Panthers five-eighth, who excelled at NSW Cup level last weekend, will have a chance to impress in an enormous game just weeks out from the finals.
It's unclear whether he is any chance of gaining back his spot in the first-grade side even with a strong performance given the way Cogger performed in halves combination with Nathan Cleary last weekend in a thumping win over the Canberra Raiders.
Metcalf, on the other hand, could be playing his final games for the Warriors while Martin is out, with the five-eighth already having signed with St George Illawarra Dragons for next year.
Metcalf, who was expected to play in the halves all season after recovering from an ACL injury, has only started a handful of times this year, falling to the bottom of the pecking order in Andrew Webster's finals-bound side.
Whether he can make a push with a strong performance for more minutes during September remains to be seen.
Kick-off at Mount Smart Stadium is set for 6pm (AEST) on Friday evening.
