G’day Zero Tackle readers, hope everyone had a terrific weekend. As always, I’m here to answer all your questions on the rugby league world!

What’s your opinion on a potential second Brisbane side proposed by Peter Beattie? @roccodarro

Hey mate, I’m a big fan of expanding our game both domestically & internationally. I would love to see us expand to Perth first. We are taking the biggest game of 2019 to Perth next weekend & I genuinely believe there is a market for the NRL in WA. Brisbane would be my second location, but I understand why the NRL would expand their first. They have a huge financial gain, given how successful the Broncos have been.

Who’s a good replacement for a Kata trade to the Warriors? @nmorgan5110

Hey man, as I reported earlier this week Solomone Kata has signed with the Melbourne Storm. He was supposed to play Q Cup with the Easts Tigers this weekend, but the release paperwork wasn’t finalised on the Warriors end. I’m not sure they will chase a replacement before June 30. I think they promote a young gun.

Hey Clarkey, any update with Waqa Blake signing with Parra? @jsunders15

G’day Jacob, I’m unable to confirm anything in great detail, however, at this stage, Peachey will move to the Panthers before the 2020 season & Blake will move to the Eels shortly afterwards. His manager was hoping to have Peachey there before June 30, which would allow Blake to move, however, it’s not looking likely.

What do you think about Titans new signing Kallum Watkins? @leon_bianchi7

Hey mate, I never like to trash a Super League signing before they’re given a chance, but this has disaster written all over it. He is coming off an ACL injury & his form has been so poor, Leeds Rhinos were desperate to move him on ASAP. Not many players who have over 250 games, 25 caps for their country & are the club captain are forced to move on. My opinion is this will go down as a very poor decision by the Titans.

If you have to start a new club, who’s your first signing and why? @will.hope5

Hey Will, that’s a really fun question. I would sign Jason Taumalolo first, closely followed by Kalyn Ponga.

What’s the story behind Dean Pay’s crazy selections? @morgnxnmcp

Hello, I have very good mail suggesting Pay has lost the locker room. The players are not getting sufficient reasoning or clear communication from their coach. Subsequently, the majority of them have lost faith that he is the man to lead the club.

Will Doggies manage to grab Jake Turpin? – Leon Geoghean

Hi Leon, I would say Broncos are favourites to retain him at this stage however, multiple Sydney clubs are having little dips & trying to lure him.

Any truth to the rumour on why Mannah wants out? – Mick Sant

Hey Mick, I won’t repeat the rumour you have listed here, as I find that extremely hard to believe. The Mannah situation is based purely on his future in the English Super League. He wants to attract a somewhat large option & at least a two-year deal. The Eels have told him he will likely play reserve grade which will affect his market value. Meanwhile, the Tigers are prepared to play him in first grade.

That’s all the questions for this week. Hopefully, you enjoyed the read & if you would like to ask a question for next week, you can follow me on social media @clarkeys.nrl.column

  1. The photo of Dean Pay says it all.

If he was a horse he would be taken round the back and shot

He’s broken, no clue, no idea what’s going on
