Heading into the pointy end of the 2018 NRL Telstra Premiership season, there are still some big props yet to decide their future in rugby league.

Zero Tackle has taken a look at the off-contract props for next season and decided on a top five.

5. Siosaia Vave – Parramatta Eels

Currently on a two-year deal with the Parramatta Eels which will expire at the end of the 2018 season, Siosaia Vave’s playing career is up in the air.

The 29-year-old has only managed six appearances for the blue and gold this season, but his size and strength could be a valuable inclusion to any club.

The Tongan international has had his issues with injuries and fitness over the past couple years, which could hurt his chances of getting a renewed contract, but can still be a great signing for any club if he sorts those two things out.

  1. Lui has indeed been solid for us recently. It makes losing both Boyd and Paulo next year not hurt as much.

  2. First of all Matt Lodge just re-signed for the Broncos a couple days ago. Second of all home is 2-5 are not even Top 3 props in their club let alone on this list.

  3. Wow!
First four are nuffies and the number one position is held by a two bit grub.
This is the worst off contract list I have ever seen.

  4. If this is the best props available on the market, its a sad state of affairs for clubs chasing props.
Apart from Lodge, most of these wouldn’t make the best 17 in any club, all depth players at best.

  5. I can understand now why the Knights have not signed any props aside from Glasby. Not much out there in the market at the moment going by this list.
