Melbourne Storm prop Tim Glasby will play for Newcastle in 2019, after verbally agreeing to a multi-year deal from next season.

The Newcastle Herald is reporting that Glasby has verbally accepted an offer from the Knights and will quit the Storm at the end of this season.

After missing out on Jarrod Wallace following his re-signing with Gold Coast on a four-year deal worth an estimated $2.7 million, the Knights shifted their focus to other prospects.

The 29-year old is in his sixth season with the Storm and has played 94 NRL games for the club, including a premiership in 2017.

The Knights were considered the favourite to land the Queensland Origin forward last week after the Raiders pulled out of the race.

Glasby rejected the Storm's offer to re-sign with them a few weeks ago, and will help beef the Knights' forward pack next season.

Meanwhile, the Knights are expected to miss out on out-of-contract Dragons prop Leeson Ah Masu, who is set to return to his homeland and join the Warriors next season.

Knights coach Nathan Brown has swung changes to his 17-man side that will face the Titans this weekend, dropping Luke Yates for Jacob Saifiti.

Jai Arrow is set to return from a rib injury, while Kevin Proctor has also been named despite dealing with a groin injury.
