The Warrington Wolves have announced the signing of rising prop Toby Crosby from the Penrith Panthers for the 2027 season.
Crosby starred in the New Zealand Warriors' prolific 2025 campaign in the reserve grade competition, winning both the NSW Cup and State Championship titles in a stacked outfit.
The Panthers added Crosby to its squad ahead of the 2026 season, where he has plied his trade in one of the elite systems in the NRL.
The damaging young forward is averaging 49.3 post-contact metres per game during 2026, and will no doubt emerge as an enforcer in the Wolves engine room under Sam Burgess.
On the other side of the ball, Crosby has recorded a 96.8% tackle efficiency, showcasing his workhorse attitude that all quality teams possess.
"I'm incredibly excited to be joining the Warrington Wolves. Ever since I was young, I've had the ambition to play professional footy in England, and the approach from Warrington made me consider it as the next step of my career," Crosby said in a Wolves statement.
“The chance to work under Sam Burgess was a huge attraction. He's someone I've looked up to for a long time, and I think he'll really help me develop.
“I'm very blessed to go from an open trial, to spending time in both the Warriors and Panthers systems. Now I'm looking forward to making an impact for Warrington.”
The Wolves also announced the signing of prop Mitchell Prest, a Canberra Raiders product who played a significant role up front in the club's SG Ball title win in 2021.
The 104kg prop earned representative duties, including an Under-19s Country NSW call-up, and later secured the Coaches Award when the Raiders finished first on the Jersey Flegg ladder in 2024.
Prest took his talents to North Queensland, where in 2026 he played for the Mackay Cutters feeder side, recording 16 appearances and three tries from the middle.
The 23-year-old is also averaging 121 run metres per game, while showing a 92% tackle success rate.
“I'm really excited to join Warrington. It's a great opportunity for me, and I can't wait to get over there and continue my development as a young, hungry forward," Prest said.
Head coach Burgess was thrilled to announce the double-signing to bolster his forward pack.
“Toby is a young forward with a lot of potential, and we're excited about bringing him into our environment. He's got the physical attributes you look for in a front-rower, and he has a strong desire to improve.
"Mitchell is another young player who we feel has plenty of upsides. There's still lots of development ahead of him, but we're confident he can continue to improve and make a real contribution to this club in the future.
“We're really looking forward to bringing them over to Warrington and nurturing them both into first grade players.”
The forward duo will join Leeds Rhinos halfback Brodie Croft in their move to Warrington for 2027.
