Cronulla Sharks players are now no longer allowed to frequent at one of the Sutherland Shire’s most popular hotspots, after a late night incident before Christmas.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Cronulla Sailing Club have told the Sharks their players will not be allowed back into the venue, after a number of scuffles broke out on December 21 featuring lower-grade players, with the police needing to be called to the venue.
The Herald understand some first-grade players were at the venue that night, but didn’t get involved in any altercation.
Cronulla CEO Barry Russell did confirm the club were aware of the situation, and told the Herald it was a very seriously matter.
“I can confirm there was an incident, which is being investigated by the club. The club has informed the [NRL] integrity unit and is working with police with their investigation,” Russell said.
“We will take the appropriate action once the investigation is concluded.”
