With reports ramping up that Sea Eagles front-rower Marty Taupau will be on the move due to the team not being able to accommodate his salary, head coach Trent Barrett adamantly denied the claims.

The struggling Sea Eagles have seen some impressive performances from Taupau, who would be in-demand by almost any team, but Barrett says that he's there to stay.

“He’s here for another three years after this,” Barrett told foxsports.com.au.

“There’s no issue around that, contrary to a lot of media reports we are well under the cap.

“We don’t have to move anyone on ... we won’t be moving Marty and there is no one in that side moving."

“I think when salary cap stuff comes up, other club’s will try and pick the eyes out of your best players and obviously he’s one of them."

There's been talk that the team is asking too much of Taupau, after running a mega 259 run metres and claiming 34 tackles last weekend, his minutes have come in to question.

“He’s a professional and he wants more minutes ... but we do need to share the workload,” Barrett explained.

The Manly Sea Eagles will take on Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
