Eric Grothe Jr was one of the toughest and most powerful wingers to ever grace an NRL field.

His career spanned over a decade, playing predominately for the Parramatta Eels as well as a brief stint with the Sydney Roosters. He played a total of 142 games, scoring 67 tries and 268 points.

Debuting in 1999, Grothe Jr was hampered with injuries throughout the early part of his career, before starting to hit his strides in 2005 when he was named to Australia's Tri-Nations squad. The following year, he was one of NSW’s best players in their series loss to Queensland.

In 2010, Grothe Jr announced his retirement from the game after struggling to overcome persistent knee injuries. He attempted to resurrect his career in 2014 with the Cronulla Sharks but was again hampered by injuries.

Nowadays, Grothe Jr and his legendary father Eric Grothe Sr, host a podcast called UnderGrothe, where they talk all things NRL amongst a host of other topics. You can find them all over social media, including YouTube and Instagram, so be sure to have a listen.
