The 2018 premiership-winning Sydney Roosters have seen their side rewarded for a superb season once again, with six players chosen in the World XIII.

The 2018 World XIII was chosen by 11 journalists and a vote from website TotalRL.com, with each journalist asked to give their five top players in each position, with five points to go to the player they believe were the best in their position, and one point to the man they named in fifth.

Boyd Cordner, James Tedesco, Joseph Manu, Latrell Mitchell, Cooper Cronk and Luke Keary were selected in the side, with seven Australians in the team all up.

Joining Cordner, Tedesco, Mitchell, Cronk and Keary from the green and gold were Valentine Holmes and Damien Cook, with the pair impressing over the 2018 season.

Manu was the only Kiwi in the side, as NRL enforcers Andrew Fifita and Jason Taumalolo represented Tonga in the side.

Three Englishmen made the cut, with Tommy Makinson, Luke Thompson and Elliott Whitehead representing their country in the XIII.

  1. In terms of the Golden Boot award for the best player in international football, WHEN in the history of the game has a winger been more important and of higher value to a team than a Fullback? And using Semi Radradra at the Eels as an anomalous example disproving this is not a sufficient argument. I understand the award is based on the performance in International representative matches alone without looking at a player’s form over an entire season but I don’t agree that this is a sufficient barometer to justify an award that recognises the World’s Best Player when the award should be about so much more.

Tommy “the myth” Makinson deserves to be ranked behind Holmes, Addo-Carr, Fusitu’a and Ferguson IMO until he has come to Australia to test his metal in the premier RL competition in the world, the NRL.

Now, with a headline like, “Roosters stars headline World XIII” perhaps we should all clear the room before a frenzied rush of rowdy Roosters run amok and shower this forum with chicken manure and their poultry excuses for the Roosters salary cap anomalies.

      • At the risk of sounding annoyed, is it really that hard to wake up every day, go on zerotackle and comment about the Roosters salary cap on every article? Making the same point again and again with seemingly no regard to what the articles about? Must be tough Reggie

        • You haven’t made a related comment on this story yet as I have sydneyroosta so what are your thoughts then (other than bragging about the number of Roosters stuffed in the battery selection cage)?

If you read my comment in full you would see that I even went into bat for a few of your Roosters arguing that they were better players than Tommy “the myth” Makinson.

Have you had any kind words lately for Sam Burgess or any other bunny?

        • sydenyrooster:

Reg has confirmed time & time again he doesn’t read articles, just headlines.

In fact, he’s even apologied for that multiple times when challenged by anyone who actually did read the article!!!

          Fancy people READING articles!!!

He’s not here to read – he finds that very difficult. He’s here to read his garbage in print & develop some sort of strange cultish following. If the pair of you ever do get along, he’ll invite you surreptitiously by clandestine publication of his email address. Bit weird really…coz there are plenty of dating sites he could resort to yet he keeps coming here for buddies.

    • Are you referring to me or my “shadow” “ghostie” who follows me EVERYWHERE?

Because being a ZT writer seems to afford them a level of protection that the rest of us don’t receive. Along with myself, eels47 and “Slammin Sam” have also reported posts that disappear into the ZT filter while “ghostie” can post whatever rubbish they want.

    • Stevesoufths, Your dreaming big time, are you Aborignial❓❓❓❓❓❓❓They are big on dream time🤣🤣😀😀😆😁😂😂Keary 6.5, Teddt and Cronk 1 mill each, Mitch and Manu are on 3.5 each and signed mid season before rep honours for two seasons, Cords 7=4million smackaroonies mate. Get your ✋ off it.
