Broncos utility is keen on returning to the Cronulla, as reported by The Daily Telegraph.

But the Sharks will not be able to fit the 23-year old into their books without the help of the Broncos.

The Sharks’ back five stocks are depleted following the losses of Jesse Ramien and Ricky Leutele, and the uncertainty surrounding Valentine Holmes means Bird would be an ideal addition.

However, they may have to offload Josh Dugan’s lucrative deal contract in order to fit Bird into their salary.

Bird has struggled through his first year Brisbane, being hampered with a sternum injury that has restricted him to just eight games.

  1. We don’t want the “flop of the year”. See players like Bird get big heads, think they are something there not, sign a better financial contract and realize the grass is not greener on the other side after all. For a few bucks less he could of stayed with his mates at Cronulla and had a real shot at winning a comp this year. Connor Watson is a classic example of the Bird syndrome. He would of been in line to win a premiership this year but he wanted to play 5/8. Well the Knights did not make the semis and next season it looks like he will be their new fullback.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • Your an idiot….
Watson and birds circumstances are not even close to the same thing..
Watson wasn’t going to play at the rorters so moved for a shot.
He has had a great season and deserves a shot at 1st grade..

      • I agree with your first sentence bob. Disillusioned rorter’s supporter. Who the hell would want to play for these scum.

        • Daffy, you know very little about League. Like your mate Bozo. Watson played every game at the Roosters last season and last season was picked in the last ever Country vs City representative match. But of coarse you blokes know nothing of those facts.💪😎👊🎱🎯

        • I can see the Woodchook’s point of view. Watson was the Roosters star utility bench player and played almost every game at the Roosters last season. If he stayed he would of been on coarse to maybe play my Rabbits in this years grand final. But as Woodchook said he left to get a starting 5/8 position which this year he has played about 15 games there. But now that Ponga has squeezed Watson to fullback a position that is not want to play. In hindsight had he stayed at the Roosters he could possibly get a grand final ring but at Newcastle the grass is not as green as he thought with the failure to play semi final footy this year non existent.

        • I can see the Woody point of view. Watson was the Roosters star utility bench player and played almost every game at the Roosters last season. If he stayed he would of been on coarse to maybe play my Rabbits in this years grand final. But as Woody said he left to get a starting 5/8 position which this year he has played about 15 games there. But now that Ponga has pushed Watson to fullback, a position that he did not want to play. In hindsight had he stayed at the Roosters he could possibly get a grand final ring but at Newcastle the grass is not as green as he thought, with the failure to play semi final footy this year non existent. Bird to me has done exactly the same thing thinking he will play 5/8 and be coached by a magician in Bennett. Now he wants out and Cronulla also have a great chance to win a comp. Both scenarios to me are very similar.

      • Bozo ya clown, Watson played every game at the Roosters last season but left to play a starting role as 5/8. Had he stayed at the mighty Chooksters he would be playing in a grand final this year. Instead he will be watching the semis from the lounge room. Bird is exactly the same. I thought Souths and the Roosters would battle out the grand final but Cronulla has hit form and they look grand final bound. Bird had he stayed would be playing in a grand final, instead he too will be watching the semis from his lounge chair. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

    • He would fit in well at Souths. Lock Forward is where he said to Bennett he wanted to play. With the massive loss of Crichton to the Roosters, Sam Burgess to the second Row and the “Dud of the Year” Bird to lock. 😁

      • There are other players I would rather see at Souths than Bird. Let him go back to the Sharks where he will be happy.

  2. Every player in your top 30 is now at least $330,000.
Can’t see how Dugan Is better than Bird though. They both spend a lot of the season on the side line.

    • Dugan goes down injured every game that is on TV, that way the Cameras zoom up on him and he can show off his tats to the nation. Dugan is the biggest actor in the NRL. He should be a wrestler. Now they really know how to act👊😎👊

  3. Looks like Broncos want to “flip the Bird”.

What a scum. Not Broncos fault he’s injured and to not even want to try and prove he’s worth it to them and just pack his bags and sulk off back to the Sh00nkies is pathetic.

  4. 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤮🤮🤮🤮😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  5. Happy for him to go. He wasn’t a good fit for the broncos at all and his positions have been filled by a lot of players who have stepped up.

  6. Seen a video of him drinking and partying from just last week in a Brisbane pub, obviously wants to get the sack
