A sex video has emerged allegedly involving a NSW player just days out from the Origin opener, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

The footage went viral just as the Blues boarded a flight to Brisbane for game one on Wednesday night, with several media outlets obtaining the footage.

It is understood that the video was filmed several years ago and the NRL is set to launch an immediate investigate into the matter.

The player cannot be named for legal reasons.

Asked about the video and if it involved one of his players at Brisbane airport, NSW coach Brad Fittler said:  "We've been made aware of it and it's not him."

Asked further about the timing of the video, Fittler responded:  "It's not him".

  1. Not saying it’s actually any NSW player in any new tape. However, if you connected it in any way to any club. Maybe a club that has already been through this? There’s only one player that plays for the same club & that is also about to play for NSW.
