  1. Definite smokies. I don’t think they’ll go all the way, but will have a side full of players with a point to prove.

  2. Why go into a nines competition, with slow players? Mansour & Whare . Both past it & shouldn’t be in the regular squad at all. Let alone being in a nines squad.

  3. Brian To’o would’ve been great to watch, what is wrong with him Panthers I’m actually spewing I enjoy his character. It’d be good to see him progress this season and not fall into that 2nd year syndrome scenario we often see.

  4. isdonisgood, Brian collapsed at a pre season session. He was unconscious, and spent two days in hospital having his heart monitored.

  5. Panthers 18 yeah he did collapse but he also hit he’s head when he collapsed, it gave him a mild concussion

  6. Panthers 18
The panthers are apparently right in the mix for Josh Addo-Carr next year, with him in our backline it’ll give us the xtra bit of speed we need. As much as I like mansour he seems to be on the decline. Also hopefully young mcgraddy can get over the knee injury and perhaps get a run in the centre’s this year

  7. toddy123, yeah I heard that to, and to be honest, I do not believe he will sign with us. I believe JAC will sign with the Roosters, or the Rabbitohs. I would love to see if Luai, and Burton, can be in the side at the same time. Those three would be a mouth watering experience.

  8. When Tyrone May is allowed to play. He also offers a lot. Having played in the halves, lock, centre. Could also be a good fit for a permanent centre spot? Or off the bench.
I’ve a lot of time for him as a player. Even if he’s stuffed other things up completely.

  9. Also Toddy & Panthers. Have you seen Charlie Staines play? He looks the goods at fullback. Safe, good positional player & fast. I hope they do keep him long term.

  10. One question… How did both reserve hookers get injured already? Both the local junior hookers out already… So they brought in a Seagulls hooker , Tyson Smoothy . Supposed to have a very good passing game & a solid defence.

  11. EastOfDivide, In my opinion, that grub needs to earn his spot. I blame him, in part, for last years disaster. Yep, I agree with regards to Charlie Staines, Daine Laurie is another one. I have not seen Tyson Smoothy play, I have heard he has had good wraps on him I hope the up coming 9 series is televised so I can watch him.

  12. Thanks Panthers I hope he was training his arse off and that’s what caused it and there is no other underlying serious health issues he seems like a real nice happy kid, he’s got some good dance moves to.

To you Panther supporters I really hope you get JAC for next season. I’d hate to see him in any other Sydney jersey I’d be right off him, his hometown I believe is closest to Penrith so hopefully that is all it takes. I’ve never been to Penrith I’d have visions of it being alot quieter than the usual Sydney rat race and after being in Melbourne JAC might want to get away from that.
    Anyway here’s hoping

  13. I think Staines looks like a future star. I think the club feels the same way about the Jersey Flagg player of the year 2019.
Dane Laurie looks a talent also. He has played 5/8th as well & they seem to be collecting halves.
Don’t know how they’ll fit them all in? Maybe May will end up at lock? Laurie off the bench for the utility . Burton at 5/8th & Luai in the centres? Then there’s McGrady , for the centres when he’s well? So what do they do.
The only part missing is another winger. McGrady winger possibly?
That would give them real pace at centre, both wings & at 5/8th. With pace from lock & off the bench. A future project.

  14. EastOfDivide, May needs to earn his spot. Charlie Stains, and Daine Laurie, are great prospects. Also, I really don’t know to much about Tyson Smoothy.

  15. No.. no one does. Smoothy is a Queenslander. He was one of his teams best. Looks to have a good kicking game & kicks goals well. Plus the good passing , tackling. That’s just from footage from the competition up there.
Mahoney had played for the same club he comes from. So if he’s near as good as Mahoney , he’d be alright.

  16. Can’t say that I’m really interested in the nines but it was great to see 18 posts without any off topic drivel from the usual Roosters/Souths nutters.

  17. JAC would be a great pick up for Panthers. As much as I am not a fan of the club I would prefer to see him there than the Roosters or Rabbitohs. If the halves can sort themselves out this year than JAC would be great with some speed on the end of the backline. It would also be good to see him go back to the Tigers.

The Penrith area isn’t what it used to be isdon…. I have lived here all of my life, and what I have liked most about the area is we have all of the benefits of a big city, but still have that rural feel as well. The problem now is there is so much development and too many apartment buildings going up. The benefit is we have much better options now to go out for a feed, but it is getting way too busy and we don’t have the infrastructure to handle it.
