The New South Wales Blues have announced Westpac as their new sponsor for the 2023 State of Origin campaign, with the big bank's 'W' logo to live on the front of the jersey.

In an official release, the New South Wales Rugby League have confirmed that the deal will run until the end of 2026, making for a four-year sponsorship of the state.

Westpac take over from Brydens Lawyers as the naming rights sponsor of the Blues.

The NSWRL have also confirmed that the deal with Westpac will provide equal financial support for the men's and women's game, with key initiatives to be launched in supporting the female participation pathways.

The new jersey, featuring the 'W' was launched on Wednesday afternoon at the Centre of Excellence.

As part of the deal, Westpac will also donate $5,000 for every try NSW scores in both the men's and women's 2023 Origin series to assist with the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

It's understood the deal is worth approximately $8 million across the four years.

“Westpac and NSW Rugby League are two organisations that are such huge parts of the lives of Australians across the State,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said in the statement.

“We know everyone at Westpac shares our passion for the development of the game across NSW, and we're looking forward to working closely with them to achieve this from Origin to our grassroots Academy programs.

“I would also like to thank Brydens Lawyers for their tenure since 2018, with their support helping the Blues win three of the past five State of Origin series.

“I am confident that the success we have enjoyed will continue into the future, and I look forward to watching the Westpac NSW Blues return the Origin Shield to NSW next season.”
