Young Sydney Roosters star Latrell Mitchell will remain at the club long-term, according to coach Trent Robinson.

Mitchell has been the subject of speculation surrounding his future, with South Sydney reportedly after his services.

The 22-year-old is contracted with the Roosters until the end of the 2020 season, and Robinson believes he'll sign on with the Chooks in due time, as he says the centre is excited to continue to grow at the club.

“Latrell’s always talked about (how) he developed through here,” Robinson told foxsports.com.au.

“We gave him a chance when other clubs wouldn’t.

“He’s on for this year and next and that’s our focus.

“There’s enough noise when it comes to recruitment around our club and what we have or haven’t done.

“But we’ve been pretty rock solid for a long time now about players continuing on or developing at our club.”

Mitchell has scored a try in each of his past three games, and has played all seven so far for the Tricolours.
