Newcastle has released a statement on the club's website addressing an incident involving Mason Lino over the weekend.

The Newcastle Herald understands Lino was involved in an altercation with two people at the Greenroof Hotel.

Teammate Jacob Saifiti was involved in an altercation at the same venue back in December.

Newcastle CEO Philip Gardner released the following statement.

The Newcastle Knights are aware of a low-level incident involving Mason Lino over the weekend.

This has prompted the Knights to review and work collaboratively with the playing group to identify methods to best prepare for the remainder of the season including the avoidance of venues with previous issues.

The Club is also working with the players to ensure they meet club and community standards.

  1. The big question here should be.
Will Newcastle and the Nrl give Lino the red Carpet treatment or what???

  2. If they let Lino go I doubt many AUS clubs would want him and I think he would be a really good under the radar signing to return to the Warriors
