The Panasonic Wild Knights have confirmed Canberra's Jordan Rapana will join the club ahead of their 2020 Top League season.

Rapana played in the Raiders' grand final loss to the Roosters earlier this month, and was considering a return to Canberra, although according to the Canberra Times, the possibility of his return was more unlikely by the day.

On the Wild Knights' website, the club has confirmed it has signed Rapana, with the Top League season set to get underway in mid-January.

Rapana will go back to rugby union, which will be his second stint in the code after owning a development contract with the Brumbies before his NRL career began.

The Top League regular season ends in May, meaning a return to Canberra could be on the cards for Rapana during the middle of the NRL season.

  1. That’ll help the Raiders salary cap situation. Just start Simonsson on the wing instead of Rapana.
Plus there’s the rumours Sezer might be off, hopefully they can retain Wighton and possibly bring in a cheap forward or two

  2. This sounds a bit suspect, is he allowed to play overseas and earn a heap of money only to comeback to Canberra on a significantly reduced income for an Test player before 30th June deadline?
This smells like a salary cap swifty in the making here.

  3. If you support a club that uses unlimited corporate sponsorships to pay players? From companies ‘ Not associated ‘ with the club in question . It’s a bit rich to go nickel-&-diming about a single players payments, at another club.
Are the Raiders using as many unlimited corporate sponsorship deals as your Wooden club ? It doesn’t appear so in any way ,shape or form.

  4. Careful EOD – Wood-duck doesn’t understand logic.
