South Sydney Rabbitohs star Damien Cook is set to re-sign with the club on a five-year $4.5 million deal, as reported byΒ Fairfax Media.

The 27-year old attracted interest from several rival clubs, including the Wests Tigers, Newcastle Knights and Parramatta Eels, but has agreed to terms on a new deal to remain at South Sydney until the end of 2024.

The Bunnies have received their second major boost for the week with Cook recommitting as Wayne Bennett was unveiled as their head coach for 2019 on Tuesday.

It is understood that Bennett has been in contact with Cook in recent weeks in a bid to keep him at the club beyond next season.

The re-signing of Cook is a major win for the club with their premiership window wide open for the next few seasons.

The Kangaroos hooker has played 73 NRL games, including stints for the St George Illawarra Dragons and Canterbury Bulldogs.

  1. There you go Reg, you can relax a bit now mate.

Great news for Rabbitohs fans. Hopefully he can now keep his form up. I do think 5 years might be a bit too long, but a win none the less.

this paragraph is the part you must read Reginald SSTID_1971

The Roosters came to play this time around when it came to contract negotiations with Crichton. They say with roughly $700,000 a season, in the same ballpark as South Sydney’s offer. Adding to the long-running feud between the clubs, Rabbitohs officials claim the Chooks offered closer to $1 million annually.

        • Oh Woody. You DO realise that I WAS just stirring when I recently posted that Angus “knuckles” Crichton was a Souths junior right? Honestly speaking I also don’t recognise him as a Roosters junior, not in the true sense of the term.

Crichton was initially developed by the Young Cherrypickers and then Scots College and was part of the junior pathways program for the Australian Rugby Union.

Any late teen that shows up during a short hiatus from RU then plays 5 games before returning to that code surely CAN’T in any rational sense be considered a genuine junior developed by that junior nursery system. To say otherwise is just one-eyed tribal blindness.

As Crichton had played in the Roosters system for some years following just 5 games it would be more appropriate and accurate to say that Souths “poached” young Angus from RU than the Roosters.

  2. Great news! Honestly thought we’d botch it like the Angus deal and offer too little. Now we just need to move on Johnstone, give Allan the number 1 and move on Gagai giving Campbell Graham the number 4, re-sign Jennings and blood/sign a winger and a second rower we are set!

    • Dane Gagai for Ethan Lowe??? Gagai will be on bigger coin so it’ll also open up salary cap space. Lowe fills the need for a second rower while Gagai fills the need another good Queensland back for the cowboys.

        • They said the same thing about Sutton (forced retirement) and Cook (Broncos/Knights). AJ is a Souths local junior who bleeds cardinal and myrtle and would not be looking to leave unless he was forced out.

        • Reg mate. You better get onto the soufths official site and listen to your silly team song again. It says nothing to do with pansy colors of cardinal and myrtle. it sings out aloud RED AND GREEN. Wake up mate and learn what your club theme songs colours areπŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        • It’s called poetic license to fit the rhyme scheme and syllable count. They had to match the 6 syllables of lines 4 and 6,

When often put to test, (6 syllables)
That others cannot best (6 syllables)
They wear the Red and Green (6 syllables)

          instead of…

They wear the Cardinal and Myrtle (9 syllables)

I know counting must be hard for you with only 3 toes on each foot which is why you probably use an abacus.

  3. Great signing now we can move forward with confidence, you would think that someone who goes by the name SSTID would at least know Souths players name, it’s Johnston not Johnstone.

    • That was such a crucial signing for Souths penso. South’s next 5 years was hanging on that IMO and $900K a season is fair and on the money for what Cook is worth.

Now Souths have 4 internationals (not counting AJ’s one appearance for Australia) and not one member of “the million dollar man club”. Meanwhile, the chooks have Crichton on $1 mill for 2019 after just one full year in the NRL and he hasn’t played for Australia while Cook is on $900K. I know which player most (if not all) rival supporters would rather have at their club, especially for the money they are on.

Great business management there from the Roosters for a player that will spend at least half his time sitting on the bench counting his 7 and a half fingers! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      • Dream on Reg.πŸ‡πŸ†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£Do you really believe the Roosters would pay more for Crichton than they pay premiership winning, NSW and Australian captain Cordner. πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜

      • Not a chance would we have tabled $1 Million at a rookie Reg. Cook’s great value for money if he can continue his form. That being said, by the time he’s 32, things could begin to be a little predictable, and he might lose a yard of pace. Thing is with Cook, his main assets can’t be acessed without dominant forwards. Will south’s have that for the next five years? The Stripping Burgess’s will all be well into their 30’s by that point.

        • The Roosters showed every team how to handle Cook and totally smothered him in round 22 when we defeated Souffths 18-14 and again 6 weeks later in the Preliminary Final when he was suffocated in the 12 – 4 Roosters romp into the grand final. Cook caught everyone by surprise in the first half of the season but not any more.

Now Soufffths have to fork out a massive chunk of their salary cap for a player who will be only half as potent as he was in that first half of this season just finished. Every coach is onto him now and they will ALL follow the Roosters blueprint tactics.πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺπŸ˜†πŸ‘

But you did and multiple media sources confirmed it. I have posted the links on here a dozen times before. Too late now but will try to post them YET AGAIN tomorrow.

Crichton is on $ 1 mill for 2019 and about $850K for the 2 remaining years of the contract.

The $2.7 million deal to lure Angus Crichton to Roosters
          11:00PM DECEMBER 18, 2017
          By DEAN RITCHIE

“It was the three-year deal worth $2.7 million that blew away South Sydney. The Sydney Roosters paid an extra $600,000 over three seasons to lure star backrower Angus Crichton away from Redfern.

It is understood the Roosters will pay Crichton $1m for 2019 and then $850,000 a season for 2020 and 2021. The final figure comes to $2.7m.

South Sydney’s offer stood at $2.1m over three years.”

          https://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/nrl/the-27-million-deal-to-lure-angus-crichton-to-roosters/news-story/9bd2dd153ccec95e137c1816ac80054e

Reg: As I said, $ 1 mill for 2019 and $850K each year for the following two years.

          @ sydneyroosta

“The Sydney Roosters paid an extra $600,000 over three seasons”

sydneyroosta can you PLEASE explain this to Woody because he doesn’t get it! He continues to believe that Souths were only offering $600K a season based on this. Clearly, it is saying that over a 3 year period COMBINED Souths’ offer fell short by $600K (i.e. $200K a season).

There are half a dozen stories out there reporting the same thing (but Dean Ritchie is relatively well known and respected in the industry). If you insist on further links as proof just google it (“Google is your friend”) it is easy enough to find. Everyone in RL knows the facts except for Roosters fans who prefer to live in the dark when it comes to their clubs obvious chronic rorting of the salary cap. But that’s because it’s much easier to live in denial than in guilt I suppose.

        • Woody believe what you want to believe. I have already posted 4 different INDEPENDENT articles that all confirm that the figure is exactly $1 mill for 2019 and $850K each year for the 2 remaining seasons ON THE CAP not including TPA’s. At least one of these stories is by respected journalist Dean Ritchie. Neither of these stories hide behind “ball park figures” or use terms like “They say with roughly $700,000 a season” it’s clear they have NO IDEA and are being fed figures by the Roosters PR department. WHO SAYS? Do we have any idea?

The 4 articles I posted were from independent sources and are clearly unbiased and impartial while this story is HEAVILY biased towards the Roosters.

It is hardly surprising to see this bias (as if Nick Politis wrote this story himself) from the NRL given the recent comments of a current NRL coach who KNOWS the Roosters system. Clearly Politis has more power and more influence behind the scenes with the NRL than we can begin to imagine.

Remove the blinkers Woody you have been blinded by tribal propaganda!

      • Idk i personally feel Cook is over rated. I think he’s a good solid player but definitely not a super star worth 900k a year. Yeah he did some great stuff throughout the early-middle of the season but the second game against melbourne where he had a blinder, was the last game he actually showed anything super star-like. From then onwards, he did nothing overly special out of being a solid and consistent hooker. Especially late in the season and in the finals he was getting shut down and barely making breaks etc. I think cook is worth 500k a year but i guess it’s nice peace of mind to have a good hooker locked in for a long time.

        • Spot on mate, All the top coaches have worked him out and during the semi finals he was shut downπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ‘Ž

        • FaoPoi, I can’t understand how you could call Cook overrated when he is a walking highlights reel and usually plays 80 mins and regularly tops the tackle count. He is also the in-C-U-M-bent NSW and Australian hooker and is one of the fastest players in the game over 40 metres with freakish acceleration and mobility at speed.

Damien Cook, along with Sam Burgess, are easily the two most important re-signings for the club even over Greg Inglis and Adam Reynolds. We will have to agree to disagree on this one but for me, Souths’ season was already over if Cook was to play elsewhere in 2019. And note, I kept the emojis out of play on this post out of respect for your allergies.

        • @ Woody and FaoPoi

Cook had an empty tank by the finals having played regularly for 80 mins for the FIRST time in his career and after taking on the extra unaccustomed workload of origin and international rep football.

He IS only human after all and next year he will grow into his roles for Souths, NSW and Australia and will learn how to pace himself throughout the season.

He is one of the most electrifying and exciting players in the game and if the opportunity arose don’t kid yourself Woody that Politis wouldn’t kick Friend to the kerb in a heart beat to bring Cook to the Roosters and you know it.

        • Overrated and a one season wonder like Ewan McGrady in 1991 who won the Rothmans medal and then never heard of again. πŸ₯‰πŸ₯ˆπŸ…πŸŽ–πŸ₯‡ Cook is no Thurston where every player in the comp would just sit back and let him do what ever he wanted. Soon as Cook picks that ball up he will never get another chance to do his long runs from bummy half. Every coach has him as a target the second he picks the ball upπŸ‡πŸ‘Ž

        • People who knock players for resigning with clubs usually do so cause they are usually scared of their ability, Woodchook knows Cook is a danger to all teams including his beloved Easts , if he doesn’t than he knows nothing about the game.
The Crichton signing by Easts is not a returning junior , he is no junior player of any Sydney club, that crap about Easts and their development player is only an attempt to deflect the real issue, that Easts do not , and never have invested in juniors, we are talking about players from nappy grade who come through they system only for clubs like Easts to claim them at 17 yrs and call them juniors, what a disgrace, Fittler is a leading example.
Woodchook you got nothing and you know it, Cricthon said he wished he never had made that decision to leave Souths, his career will go down the drain with your club, you watch, plus i doubt your team will be in the top 6 next season.

        Your Maths are wrong Reg.
GI, Gagai, Cook, Sam, Tom, George, that is 6 Internationals mate.
Yes AJ played in 1 test match.

        • Under Bennett the only players who will make the National rep teams will be the face book stripper and his twin flashing brothers, and that’s only because Papa Smurf is the English coach, Cook will miss the boat in the Aussie side due to the fact if any team lets him run amok from dummy half then they will be probably running last at the time of playing Soufffths.. Every one knows how to stop Cook now. πŸ”«πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Ž

        • Reg, just because I know how much accuracy/accountability re the salary cap means to you, isn’t Sam a member of the million dollar club?
P.S, I think you’ll find so is Cook, at least technically. I thought he was on about $400K (but let’s call it $500k) and contracted for 2019. He’s now on a reported $4.5mil for 5 years, hence the $900k average, but one could also argue he extended his current contract by 4 years, for an extra $4mil, hence a member of the million dollar club.
Whilst I’ll be the first to admit that’s being very “Ned” of me, I’d also expect that’s about how it’s been done, unless you are now about to off load a player.

        • Well done eelsalmightyβœ”βœ”βœ”βœ”βœ”βœ”βœ” So how many millionπŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’² men have you now Reginald❓❓❓❓❓ Inglis, Cook and Burgess the face book flasher, Gagai and JohnstoneeeeeπŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‡πŸ‘ŽNo wonder you let Crichton return home to the Roosters and you claim he was on a milπŸ‘Ά

        • β€œNow Souths have 4 internationals (not counting AJ’s one appearance for Australia)”

Actually not wrong mate. It was a typo, “not counting AJ’s one appearance for Australia” should have read “counting AJ’s one appearance for Australia”. I don’t count pommies as internationals since they haven’t beaten Australia for so long we just use them for practice!

OK then 3hats, yes I am wrong this time and you have been right twice now in the same day… just like a broken watch. I must have been trying to count on my toes while typing with my fingers. It’s hard to keep track of what I actually say on here so I am glad someone is paying to my every word. πŸ˜‰

So you don’t take issue with my stats on AJ and comparison to “Johnnie Walker’s” beloved ex-Rabbitoh Dylan Walker? You might want to double check for me as clearly my memory is starting to go 2hats.

        • mighty, far be it for me to contradict you on financial matters (given that you have “Ned’s” ear, and pretty much everything else as well) but the last contract signing I remember for Sam Burgess had him on $850K a season ON THE SALARY CAP and TPA’s taking this fugure up to $1 2 mill. THAT is NOT the SAME thing as the Roosters “million dollar man” club that has Tedesco, Cronk and Crichton as members for 2019. ALL if these players are earning $1 mill or over for 2019.

Note, I didn’t include Cordner who is on $850K but would be on over a million for 2019 after TPA’s. Also, when you look at Manly for example DCE is the ONLY member of the “million dollar man” club. I don’t include Turbo who is on $900K for 2019 but would be on over $1 mill AFTER TPA’s.

So, given that example, Cook is on $900K ON THE CAP irrespective of TPA’s and fails to qualify like Sammy, GI and Turbo for the “million dollar man” club.

You always seem to confuse (intentionally or otherwise) my salary cap arguments by including TPA’s when I have always made it clear I am talking about figures ON THE SALARY CAP.

        • But there in lies the problem with supporters doing salary cap calculations, which can only be sourced from the media.
ZT, and other sites, have Sam on $1 mil. You could argue, as I did above, that Cook is effectively on a million (from 2020). Any published amounts, when contracts are announced, should be cap monies only, as TPA’s shouldn’t be known at the time (given they are not part of the contract).
Anyway, who’s on what (exactly) is unknown (with any degree of certainty), and you (anyone) will believe what they will.

      • Hey Reg. The 30 game rookiewe brought back to the Roosters after Souths stole him loves the place on his 500k per season contract. This is on the Roosters web site….

After a number of new squad members were welcomed to the Sydney Roosters ahead of the 2019 NRL Telstra Premiership season, Angus Crichton was welcomed back to the Club.

        RoostersTV with Angus Crichton
Crichton spent his younger years at the Roosters as a member of the 2014 S.G. Ball squad that went on to win the Cup, alongside current squad members Latrell Mitchell, Joseph Manu, Bernard Lewis and Poasa Faamausili.
Now mid-way through the third week of the pre-season, Crichton has well and truly settled back in and is enjoying his time at the Club.

“I’m absolutely loving my time back in the red, white and blue,” Crichton said.
“I’m getting to know all of the new faces, new coaches, all the new stuff and really loving it.”
After successful shoulder surgery in the off-season and some time away travelling, Crichton has returned feeling fresh and ready for the new season.
“I’m back doing full skills now, and will return to full contact after Christmas I think.
“It’s tracking ahead of schedule, so I’ll be ready for the season.”

Crichton is just 22 years old, but finds himself as one of the more experienced squad members at this point of the pre-season.
With plenty still to learn as a footballer and room to improve, Crichton wants to continue his success both in his own development and with his new Club.
        “For me, it’s just success.
“Success as a team, success as a Club, I think this team that we have here is bound for success.
“It’s in our hands to train hard, to trust our coaches and to work as a team.
“If we do that, we’ll put ourselves in a great position for success in 2019.”πŸ“πŸ”πŸ“πŸ”

  4. I think the fact that skeletor was in contact with cook while still coaching the donkeys is despicable.
Never hated South’s but now skeletor is their coach they have dropped a long way down on my list.

    • “Never hated South’s but… they have dropped a long way down on my list.”

Just as long as we don’t drop to 16th on your list Kev. I would hate to deprive you of one of your spoons! πŸ₯„

      • Sorry Reg but on my list Soufffths who think they own the Easts Coast of Sydney (somebody give the rabbits a compass, East is not south) are equal last with the dirty muddy creek water that runs through the guts of the city of Brisbane Ponies.πŸ‡πŸ₯„πŸ¦„πŸ₯„πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‚πŸ‘Ž

        • Your comments are going to look so funny Woody when the “Bennett Bunnies” (ooh πŸ™„πŸ˜³) get to the 2019 GF and the Roosters struggle to go back to back and miss out on the preliminary finals next year.

Let’s both bookmark this post and see which one of us gets to re-post it after the end of next season in 2019.

Just keep your scamming little Roosters cheerleaders away from our players. Entrapment is illegal and next time the connection may be exposed going all the way back to the Roosters front office and it could be their undoing.

    • They should have someone like Fittler who does all that for the rorters and keeps it all above board.
Is it true he is Politis’s no1 scout?

  5. That gutter newspaper the Telegraph are reporting that Seibolb phoned Cook to say they will be keeping McCollough, what a load of crap that is, whoever that jurno was need a rocket up his backside, Cook was never going interstate with his wife being in that job with V’landys.

Kev he acted on a phone call from Richardson who asked him to ring those players, he has already explained this , but no here will lose any sleep if you don’t like us.

  6. Great signing for the Bunnies, great coin for Cook, great news for McCullough. It would have been a great rivalry if Cook had gone to Brisbane, but the rivalry is still gonna be exciting. Oates reupping for Brisbane should also be a sign to come… hopefully.

    • And TPJ? Is it still a verbal agreement or is it contractual now for 2019?

My fear is that if he plays one year under Seibold he may be happy to stay where he is after he has been weaned off Wayne’s sour milk. πŸ„πŸ₯›

  7. Well that’s a weight off my chest! πŸ₯‚πŸΎ

    As promised…

3hats was RIGHT and I haven’t been happier for someone to say “I told you so!!”

So happy that Christmas came a little earlier this year… even if it brought the Grinch who stole TPJ from Brisbane. Fingers crossed on that one by the way.

  8. how they going to fit him in to their cap with the big $$$’s upgrade. Correct me if I am wrong, but there was talk Sutton wouldn’t be offered a deal as there was little to no room to fit him…
Reg: have the bunnies been taking lessons from big brother?

    • Well billy, Souths signed BEFORE the Roosters in 1908 so the Rabbitohs are the big brother in this dysfunctional relationship. Particularly when you measure the size of our… achievements. πŸ†

If the Roosters are permitted to be at least $2 mill plus over the salary then I say; “caps off for all clubs” until there is no longer a double standard. So in others words, until things change with the salary cap scrutiny for the Roosters I really could care less about the salary cap to be honest.

It’s a joke that is no longer funny… like this cage match with Rick with the silent “P” (aka Mr Stay Puft marshmallow man) who has a big mouth but can’t back it up and keeps hiding.

  9. Now Souths just need to move on Alex Johnston. The guy doesn’t like to get tackled, always gets bundled into touch, makes negative post contact meters only, never in the line or on the last line of defence always in no mans land and refuses to back up cook when he gets out of dummy half. Remember the pass he threw to Jennings in the Semi final against St George? Huge cross field ball behind Jennings(knock on) coming out of his own half on a kick return. Not a 1st grader. Think about how bad the Kangaroos were going when AJ was picked.

    • Yes we remember.
He was the only one with errors all year and funny you dont mention his good attributes.
With all due respect Souths whole team should be sacked based on your logic.
Losing Johnston would be a big error.
Bennett knows it, Rusty knows it, even Richo knows it and the majority of Souths supporters know it.

    • So who do you support champ (WOWO)? The Sea Eagles? That would be funny if you worshipped a South Sydney junior who has done nothing but go backwards in his career (and off a short right hand from Curtis Scott) since leaving the Rabbitohs. Walker played for Australia ONLY while he was at Souths and got 2 games in origin straight after leaving Souths to go to Manly off his form at the Rabbitohs. Walker had a 53% strike rate with 34 tries in 63 but since going to the Sea Eagles that has plummeted to 41% or 23 tries from 56 games. Now compare that to AJ’s 72.9% strike rate of 78 tries from 107 games!

2018 Season stats: Alex Johnston vs Dylan Walker

      AJ: 8 (Tries), 199 (Runs), 2,049 (Run mtrs), 10.3 (mtrs/carry), 19 (LB), 52 (TB), 9 (Off), 14 (TA), 17 (Missed Tackles), 0 (Pen), 0 (SB)
      Walker: 2 (Tries), 103 (Runs), 918 (Run mtrs), 8.9 (mtrs/carry), 3 (LB), 30 (TB), 30 (TB), 35 (Missed Tackles), 11 (Pen), 2 (SB)

      Source: http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/stats/

Strong words “Johnnie Walker” but you crashed “on the rocks” with this one. Have you been sampling a little too much of your own product again?

Let’s look at some stats, shall and bear in mind AJ has been playing out of position at RB (he is a left winger). AJ played his first full year at FB with just 8 tries from 24 games. While the NSW and Australian FB James Tedesco scored 9 tries from 25 games. Pretty much on par.

AJ scored 71 tries in 83 games from the 4 years prior to 2018. He even finished 1st and 3rd leading try scorer on two occasions. At 23 yrs old Johnston has already represented Australia, the PM’s XIII and the Indigenous All Stars. Not a bad start for a 23 year old.

AJ was also the leading try scorer (1st) in 2014 with 21 tries from just 18 games (his debut season)! He was 3rd highest try scorer in 2015 with 17 tries from 25 games and 4th highest try scorer in 2017 with 22 tries from 22 games. He missed 1st place by just 1 try but was injured for the last 3 games of the year otherwise he would have been the leading try scorer in 2017 in a canter (in a team that finished 12th!!)

      • Me thinks you have the wrong Walker mate. Who can forget Nathan Brown running accross the field screaming “Walkers on, Walkers on” in origin….

        • So a Knights fan then you think? Can’t blame him for keeping that to himself but I can’t stand cowards who take pot shots at other clubs and either won’t declare their true tribal loyalties or hide them altogether like Panthers3 behind a fake profile that attempts to misdirect attention away from their real allegiance and true motives.

  10. Dont forget Bennett has years of experience in managing players and 3rd party player payments. You would have to think that the likes of Sutton and possibly Kyle Turner will go. Inglis is 32 in January so his last two years you would think will be spent in the centres. Sam was smart and got his coin locked away – Tom and George have an uphill battle as we all know what Bennett thinks what forwards should be paid, – Souths should be fine for cap space.

  11. Why can’t South supporters be honest with themselves It’s ok to admit Alex Johnston is just not a 1st grader. Who goes into touch on the 1st tackle against the minor premieres in a huge Preliminary Final while your side is on the attack, Alex Johnston does.

    • What a massive side step to dodge a tidal wave of facts that contradict and dismiss your false assertion. Are you tr0lling mate because I won’t waste any more of my time on you if you are just a shadow that disappears whenever the light of logic and reason is applied.

You even posted away from my reply “Johnnie Walker” like you were trying to take a detour around an RBT. It looks like you clearly don’t have a “Plan B” and you are desperately trying to avoid running into Curtis Scott’s right hand again.

Give it up before you end up one the rocks “Johnnie Walker”. πŸ₯ƒ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      • on the rocks… had a few too many myself obviously. 🍺🍺🍺πŸ₯ƒπŸ₯ƒπŸ₯ƒ

        • Reg you probably best doing a Greg Inglis and over indulge on the grog because there will be no celebration drinking with your favourite coach “pAPA sMURF” Bennett pulling the strings at Souffths πŸ»πŸ·πŸΊπŸ‘ˆπŸ‘ΆπŸ‘‰

    • He stood around in arms length and did nothing while Tupou taped the ball back for Momoroski to score the match sealer also mate.πŸ’ͺπŸ‘΄πŸ‘

Now mid-way through the third week of the pre-season, Crichton has well and truly settled back in and is enjoying his time at the Club.
β€œI’m absolutely loving my time back in the red, white and blue,” Crichton said.
β€œI’m getting to know all of the new faces, new coaches, all the new stuff and really loving it.”
After successful shoulder surgery in the off-season and some time away travelling, Crichton has returned feeling fresh and ready for the new season.
β€œI’m back doing full skills now, and will return to full contact after Christmas I think.
β€œIt’s tracking ahead of schedule, so I’ll be ready for the season.”
Crichton is just 22 years old, but finds himself as one of the more experienced squad members at this point of the pre-season.
With plenty still to learn as a footballer and room to improve, Crichton wants to continue his success both in his own development and with his new Club.
          β€œFor me, it’s just success.
β€œSuccess as a team, success as a Club, I think this team that we have here is bound for success.
β€œIt’s in our hands to train hard, to trust our coaches and to work as a team.
β€œIf we do that, we’ll put ourselves in a great position for success in 2019.β€πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ”πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

        • “This is on the Roosters web site….”

Mate, I’m sure the N@zi’s believed every word of “Mein Kampf” as well. After all, it HAD to be the truth, right? I will find the link to the multiple media stories that reported this AGAIN, even YOU posted the link once as supporting evidence for your case, only it supported MY argument. It’s too late now to be serious and analytical.

But trust me, Crichton is on $1 mill for 2019 and about $850K a year for the remaining 2 years of his 3 year contract.

  12. 100% not trolling, why would you bring D Walker into the conversation? His a 1st grader at best. You can go back to rnd 1 where AJ couldn’t even get over the line against RTS all he had to do was put the ball down. Go back and look at the games. He was terrible against Parra in a game that South won easily, he refused to attack the ball when Hayne put a chip in. (Hayne scored) What about the game he had against Canberra? Absolutely refused to tackle and Canberra had reset after reset, remember the meal he made of the bomb in that game? Yes sure he was a good winger back in the day but that was years ago. Like I said before his not even fast anymore. Please go back and look at the games.

  13. Correct it was Origin…. Walkers On Walkers On!! Nothing to do with D Walker at all, and I’m listening to you on why AJ is a 1st grader.

  15. **woodchook** That’s the exact type of plays I’m referring to with Alex Johnston. I remember it well.

  16. Woodchook that’s the exact type of plays I’m referring too with Alex Johnston. I remember it well.

    • AJ defence is poor also. I said during Souths easy winning streak of 9 games against no hopers that their week link was their wingers. In the preliminary final Fergo scored on one wing and Tupou scored on their other wing. Now Reg wants to put AJ whho can’t tackle on the left wingπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ’ͺπŸ”πŸ‘

      • Finally someone who sees the game for what it is. His not a good player. AJ is a talent along the lines of Andrew Everingham.

        • Interesting how you are happy to engage empty rhetoric devoid of facts yet ignore a sea of information that completely disproves your false assertion.

The hallmark of a tr0ll “Johnnie Walker”. Show final that you have some small vestige of intestinal fortitude and confirm here categorically WHICH TEAM you support. Nail your colours to the mast or continue on in irrelevance entertaining the deluded musings of an old Rooster who makes more jokes than sense.

  17. This is a great signing for Souths However its is very poor form that Bennett was negotiating this deal when he was still committed to Brisbane. I imagine Souths fans would feel the same if they found out Seibold was influential in Oats signing with Brisbane. This is just more piece of evidence that shows what a farcical joke this Bennett/Seibold fiasco is and why there was no way he could have been Brisbane’s coach in 2019. I tried to give Bennett the benefit of the doubt and not question his professionalism but this shows where his mindset is at this stage of his career,

    • @ tommy

“its is very poor form that Bennett was negotiating this deal when he was still committed to Brisbane”
“I imagine Souths fans would feel the same if they found out Seibold was influential in Oats signing with Brisbane.”
“This is just more piece of evidence that shows what a farcical joke this Bennett/Seibold fiasco is”

Well, that’s a record tommy. Three things we can agree on in the same post! But you got this sentence wrong. You should have phrased the ending differently…

“I tried to give Bennett the benefit of the doubt and not question his professionalism but this shows” Reg and also SSTID-1970 were right all along about Wayne Bennett.

Was that SO hard? And yes ZT, I TOLD YOU SO!

  18. @ Reg Rogan

Instead of looking at your team in rose colour glasses take take the bias out of what you preach. The stats you point out are from years back. Go back and watch the film from this year. Starting off with Rn1 Perth, South Vs Warriors. Nth Qld when AJ went off injured at half time, Souths wouldn’t have never been close enough to win by a penalty goal if not for G.I going back to fullback. South in the nations capital where AJ fluffed a bomb in goal that was going over the dead ball line. This game was a classic of how AJ absolutely refuses to tackle. Sam Burgess look in response was epic. Even Ben Hunts try in the semi final, AJ was in complete no mans land. Please watch the film. It was a fantastic result for Souths to offload Jason Clarke who was an absolute fumble numpty. It will happen AJ won’t be at Souths by 2020 if not sooner.
