The Parramatta Eels have released a statement confirming Josh Addo-Carr was involved in an alleged incident on Friday evening.
Reports in The Daily Telegraph have revealed Addo-Carr was stopped for a random raodside drug test by NSW Police on Friday night, which he failed.
It's alleged he tested positive to cocaine during the test.
"The Parramatta Eels are aware of an alleged incident involving Josh Addo-Carr," the Eels wrote in a statement.
"The club has notified the NRL Integrity Unit and is cooperating with the appropriate processes, as well as providing welfare support to Josh and his family.
"The Parramatta Eels will not be commenting further until the matter has been finalised."
The NRL are yet to comment on the alleged matter, which could be the second failed drug test for Addo-Carr.
The star winger, who toured with the Kangaroos for the Ashes in England last year and could have been in the mix for the Rugby League World Cup squad, failed the same test in 2024, seeing his Canterbury Bulldogs contract torn up.
The Eels then took a chance on Addo-Carr for 2025, offering him a one-year deal with a club option for 2026 which was subsequently taken up.
His contract has been since extended out to the end of 2027, but the winger is now in grave danger of not seeing that out, with Parramatta likely to take similar action to the Bulldogs if the allegations are proven true.
