The Penrith Panthers have revealed that veteran playmaker James Maloney will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a knee injury during his side's win over Titans on Satuday.

The club provided the following update about the 32-year old's injury via a statement on panthers.com.au.

"Maloney suffered a grade two medial ligament injury in the final moments of the first half, before finishing the game," the statement reads.

"The 32-year-old will be sidelined indefinitely at this stage but is hopeful of returning to lead the Panthers in the finals.

"Maloney's replacement in the Panthers side to face Newcastle Knights will be revealed when coach Cameron Ciraldo names his squad on Tuesday afternoon."
