Cowboys hooker Kurt Baptiste has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

The 28-year old sustained the injury while playing for Papua New Guinea on Saturday, with scans confirming the worst.

He will undergo surgery later in the week.

Baptiste made his NRL debut in 2011 and has totalled 79 first-grade appearances, including nine for North Queensland this season.
