Brisbane BroncosAdam Reynolds has indicated he would have been fit to play this weekend if he was selected by Michael Maguire and his coaching staff.
The halfback was overlooked for this weekend's game in Brisbane against the New Zealand Warriors, with Maguire preferring to leave him out after he missed last week's high-scoring loss to the Dolphins.
It raised questions over whether Reynolds might have played his last game.
The Broncos are well and truly out of finals contention, and now in preparation for 2027 where Ezra Mam and Tom Duffy will be joined in competition for the halves spots by the arriving Jonah Pezet, who has had a miserable stop over campaign at the Parramatta Eels.
Reynolds, quizzed by the media on Wednesday, revealed he wasn't injured.
"Nah, I feel alright, I feel good," he said bluntly.
That is in direct competition with what coach Maguire said on Tuesday.
"He just can't. He has some issues with his calves and nerves and it's just bothering him. He has a neural issue with his calf," Maguire had said when justifying Reynolds not being named.
Reynolds, who was coy with the media, but seemed a little frustrated compared to his usual self, then directly seemed to suggest there was a chance he wouldn't play another game.
"If there is a farewell, there is a farewell. If not, look I'm happy with the career I've had. There are other players that probably deserve it more than I do and they have been a big part of the club for a lot longer than I have," Reynolds said.
"Every game you have is important, not just your last game, but I'll keep you guessing."
He also said him missing this weekend's game was not really down to anything, but admitted it was a good opportunity for other players in the squad.
"Nothing really. It's a good opportunity for some young players to get a go and build on some combinations for the future," he said.

Reynolds has battled through injury for much of his time in Brisbane, but still led the club to a drought-breaking premiership last year.
The former South Sydney Rabbitohs star is set to move into a coaching role with the Broncos next year, having announced before the season kicked off that 2026 would be his last as a player.
As it stands, Reynolds has played 323 NRL games, with the last 92 of those coming at the Broncos since he joined the outfit in 2022, while he also has two State of Origin appearances to his name.
