The red and green reminded everyone of their title credentials on Thursday night by delivering an absolute thumping to the poor Wests Tigers.

The 51-10 win confirms what we all knew but had doubted a little over the past fortnight, that the Rabbitohs are big players in this upcoming title race.

I hear those behind their laptops and phones screaming "but it was only the Tigers!"

True, but this is the ninth placed Tigers who belted the Bunnies 22-6 six NRL rounds ago. This is also a side that was a big player in the finals until just last weekend.

It wasn't so much the win, or even the scoreline, that will have fans in Redfern and across Southern Sydney dreaming of a repeat of their 2014 historics. It was the matter in which they ground the Tigers into submission then piled on the points.

The metres gained stat saw the Bunnies record 2197 metres to the Tigers 880. I've never seen such a huge differential in this previously.

Seriously, they more than doubled the amount of metres made by the Tigers, a side containing a pretty handy forward pack and electric outside backs. That is INSANITY!!!

The Bunnies produced eight tries from 63% possession. I had to double and even triple check that stat as it felt at times as though the Bunnies held the ball for at least 80% of the match.

Their completion rate of 79% wasn't amazing but considering the brand of attacking footy on show, combined with the fact passes were forced once the result was put beyond doubt, that's quite impressive.

Post contact metres saw 711 metres recorded to just 308 for the Tigers.

This was total and utter domination.

Nine line breaks to zero. 45 tackle breaks to 13. 332 kick return metres to 45. YIKES!!!

The Bunnies will obviously encounter sides better prepared, and with all due respect to the Tigers, more talented, over the next month, but this was the perfect hit out before the finals series.

Greg Inglis looked like a man possessed. At one stage you could hear him calling for the ball on multiple occasions a set. 74 post contact metres shows just how hard he is to contain when he's in this kind of form. I feel sorry for those who have to mark him in the next few weeks.

The Burgess boys were destructive up the middle, John Sutton had a wow of a game and busted holes in the Tigers defence on multiple occasions.

With Johnson, Campbell-Graham and Jennings back to full fitness, the Bunnies looked a far more dangerous side. Johnson is shaping as a real key in the final's race.

Cody Walker had yet another eye-watering attacking display. He could be THE key to this Bunnies title tilt.

Adam Reynolds directed his side around the park and dictated terms. His try in the 64th minute was the ultimate halfback's try. He ran to the line, shaped to pass and boom, was gone before the defenders could adjust.

Damien Cook had a quiet night compared to other efforts this season but was faultless. You can see he is licking his lips at targeting tired forwards over potentially the next month.

Cam Murray is an absolute weapon off the bench. Most teams face a fair to significant drop when their run on forwards take a break. Not so the Bunnies. Murray would walk into the majority of other run on sides across the competition.

He and Woods are arguably the best bench forwards in the game right now.

Angus Crichton continues to run like a centre, pass like a half and hit like a front rower. He could be the game's best forward in the next few seasons.

The Bunnies even proved they had a back up kicker ready if Reynolds isn't hitting them sweetly when departing Jason Clark slotted (just) from in front.

It was a wonderful night at ANZ Stadium that has many, myself included, thinking this may not be the Bunnies last visit to ANZ Stadium in 2018.

Of course they'll host at least one, potentially two, finals being they can't finish any lower than third position, but this is a reference to a possible Grand Final.

That's' right, I'm calling it. The Bunnies can win the 2018 title!

Will they? Can't wait to find out.

They say rugby league is going well when the Bunnies are going well. I can't disagree. I'm excited.
