Every current NRL player STILL without a contract for 2027

The NRL finals are underway for 2026, and rosters are filling up quickly for 2027. As it stands, there are less than 100 spots available, but that means there are still plenty of players without a contract heading to the end of the season. Zero Tackle have cast an eye over the NRL's current state of play for every club to determine what's happening around the competition, and run you through every player without a deal for 2027. Brisbane Broncos Off-contract: Jack Gosiewski, Delouise Hoeter Jaiyden Hunt, Josh Rogers Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Nil The Broncos have just three players left off-contract at the end of the year. While there has been no official announcement, Delouise Hoeter was farewelled during the club's last home game and doesn't have a new deal for next year. Jaiyden Hunt has been linked with a move to the Cnberra Raiders, while Jack Gosiewski has been reportedly told he won't be offered a new deal. Canberra Raiders Off-contract: Michael Asomua, Jake Clydsdale, Vena Patuki-Case, Jed Stuart Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Chevy Stewart Development players with no deal: Ethan Alaia, Shaun Packer, Mark Tuialii, Jayze Tuigamala The Raiders still have plenty of spots to fill for 2027, and some decisions to make in the contract space. Michael Asomua has been linked with a departure, while Jed Sutart is likely to stay. There has been little news on Jake Clydsdale or Vena Patuki-Case. Chevy Stewart is also understood to be set to have his option picked up. Canterbury Bulldogs Off-contract: Kade Dykes, Lipoi Hopoi, Samuel Hughes, Zyon Maiu'u, Kurt Mann, Jack Todd, Jake Turpin, Patrick Young Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Sean O'Sullivan Development players with no deal: Sosaia Alatini The Bulldogs confirmed their list of departing players recently, but left a long list of seven off-contract players. It's unclear at this stage which of the group are likely to stay, although Samuel Hughes is rumoured to be on the verge of a new one-year deal. Lipoi Hopoi has been farewelled by the club, but is likely to link up with the Canberra Raiders, although doesn't have a confirmed deal at this stage. Sean O'Sullivan, who has a mutual option, is set to sign with St Helens in the Super League. Cronulla Sharks Off-contract: Jayden Berrell, Tuku Hau Tapuha, Blake Hosking, Toby Rudolf, Braden Uele Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Nil The Sharks, who have plenty of roster spots left, still have five contract calls to make heading in to 2027. Toby Rudolf is set to re-sign, while Braden Uele has been linked surprisingly to the Sydney Roosters. The rest of the group are unlikely to be retained, but there has been no confirmation from the Shire-based club as yet. Gold Coast Titans Off-contract: Jett Liu, Sam Verrills Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Dean Ieremia The Titans have just about filled their squad for 2027, and as a result, have very little left in the way of off-contract players. Jett Liu - a forward originally from the Dragons - was the only player not listed in the departures the club confirmed recently. Dean Ieremia, who played NRL again this year off the development list, is also yet to have his future confirmed either way. Sam Verrills has been formally farewelled by the club, but has no deal in place for next year. Manly Sea Eagles Off-contract: Nathan Brown, Zach Dockar-Clay, Zaidas Muagututia, Aaron Schoupp, Siosiua Taukeiaho, Blake Wilson Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Paul Bryan, D'Jazirhae Pua'avase, Jackson Shereb, Brandon Wakeham The Sea Eagles announced a long list of 12 departures this week, which included all of Siosiua Taukeiaho, Aaron Schoupp, Paul Bryan, Zach Dockar-Clay, Blake Wilson, Fletcher Baker, Zaidas Muagututia, Viliami Fifita and Tex Hoy who don't have a club for next year. The clearing of the decks at Manly leaves a handful of development players without a deal. It's understood Brandon Wakeham is on the verge of re-signing, while Jackson Shereb could also win a new contract given he has featured plenty in Kieran Foran's plans this year. Melbourne Storm Off-contract: Jack Hetherington, Trent Toelau Player option: Nil Team option: Moses Leo Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Stanley Huen The Storm have two players left off-contract after recently clearing the decks, with Jack Hetherington and Trent Toelau fighting for their futures. It's understood Moses Leo has had a club option taken up, although there has been no confirmation yet. Jai Bowden's promotion to the top 30 means Stanley Huen is the only player left from the development group without a deal. Newcastle Knights Off-contract: Wilson De Courcey, Tyson Frizell, Brodie Jones Player option: Kyle McCarthy Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Nil The Knights have just about filled their squad for next year, although are currently in the process of trying to free money to retain Tyson Frizell. Wilson De Courcey is understood to have signed with the Brisbane Broncos, while there has been no news around the future of Brodie Jones. Kyle McCarthy is still at the club with a player option for 2027. It's unclear if this has been taken. New Zealand Warriors Off-contract: Rocco Berry Player option: Nil Team option: Kahu Capper Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Nil The Warriors have been one of the clubs to sort their group for next year out early. Rocco Berry is the only player who remains off-contract, and has been linked with the Melbourne Storm. It's understood a medical may stop him making that move, but he is unlikely to receive a contract extension in Auckland. Kahu Capper's contract status is currently unclear, while the club also had Jett Cleary on the off-contract list until recently when he was granted a release to join the Penrith Panthers. North Queensland Cowboys Off-contract: Mason Kira, Kai O'Donnell, Jaxson Pauo, Murray Taulagi Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Xavier Kerrisk, Ethan King, Ronald Philitoga, Liam Sutton, Matthew Watts The Cowboys have not formally confirmed their list of departures, but Murray Taulagi was farewelled at their final home game of the regular season. It's understood the remaining off-contract trio of Mason Kira, Kai O'Donnell and Jaxson Paulo are all likely to depart. The fate of their group of development players without deals for 2027 remains to be seen. Parramatta Eels Off-contract: Jack de Belin, Junior Paulo, Richard Penisini, Will Penisini, Jake Tago Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Nil With the Eels recently confirming the departure of Jack de Belin, Richard Penisini and Jake Tago, the list is down to two of those who could remain with the club. Both Junior Paulo and Will Penisini are expected to re-sign, although neither have been announced at this stage. Paulo was linked with the Perth Bears, but that deal fell over. Penrith Panthers Off-contract: Tom Ale, Kalani Going, Freddy Lussick Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Nil The Panthers have made zero signings for 2027, and have lost three players in Jack Cole, Liam Henry and Scott Sorensen. As it stands, Tom Ale, Kalani Going and Freddy Lussick remain off-contract. The former duo are expected to re-sign, while Lussickl has been heavily linked to the Canterbury Bulldogs. South Sydney Rabbitohs Off-contract: Adam Elliott, Moala Graham-Taufa, Jamie Humphreys, Liam Le Blanc, Max McCarthy, Cody Walker Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Nil With the Rabbitohs confirming the departures of Liam Le Blanc, Max McCarthy and Moala Graham-Taufa as their season came to an end on Friday night, just three players remain off-contract. The club are keen to retain Cody Walker, while Jamie Humphreys backflipped on Perth earlier this year and is in negotiations to remain a Rabbitoh. St George Illawarra Dragons Off-contract: Hame Sele Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Joseph O'Neill The Dragons recently confirmed a long list of departures, with Blake Lawrie, Hame Sele and Christian Tuipulotu going from off-contract to needing a new club - which they have, apart from Sele - now found. Sele is still yet to find a new deal. It leaves Joseph O'Neill, who has reportedly re-signed, the only other player anywhere in the club without a contract next year. Sydney Roosters Off-contract: Tommy Talau, Daniel Tupou Player option: Nil Team option: Nil Mutual option: Nil Development players with no deal: Reece Foley The Roosters are almost sorted for 2027, but still have decisions to make on Tommy Talau and Daniel Tupou. Tupou hasn't confirmed whether he will play on yet, while Talau is expected to be offered a new deal. The Dolphins Off-contract: Brian Pouniu, Brad Schneider Player option: Team option: Mutual option: Development players with no deal: Charlie Dickson, Zac Garton, Patrick Kailahi, Lewis Symonds The Dolphins, in the midst of their first NRL finals campaign, have Brian Pouniu and Brad Schneider left off-contract at the end of next year. It's understood the Dolphins have a deal on the table for Pouniu. A number of development players also still have their futures up in the air. Wests Tigers Off-contract: William Craig, Tristan Hope, Heath Mason, Solomone Saukuru, Jeral Skelton, Tony Sukkar Player option: Team option: Mutual option: Development players with no deal: Bunty Afoa, Lachlan Broederlow, Charlie Murray The Tigers still have plenty of players without a club for 2027, with the group waiting to see what the Tigers will do contract wise. There are also a number of development players with unclear futures. Jeral Skelton is reportedly attracting plenty of interest from rival clubs, but news surrounding the Tigers has been skinny.
