Despite bursting onto the scene as one of the league's most exciting playmakers, 25-year-old Kane Elgey may walk away from the game at the end of the season.

Elgey played 16 games for the Titans in his first season of NRL action, scoring six tries and assisting 10 in an impressive showing back in 2015.

The halfback suffered an ACL injury which kept him out of the entire 2016 campaign, although he was rewarded with a three-year deal that took him through to the end of 2018.

After 46 games for the Titans registering 15 tries and 17 try assists, Elgey departed for the Sea Eagles, but has only featured 11 times this year in his debut season with the club.

All of his 11 appearances came in the first 12 rounds, and according to the Daily Telegraph, Elgey is considering hanging up the boots as he continues to play in the Canterbury Cup.
