The Dolphins continue to build their roster for the 2027 season and beyond, as they secure two players on their current roster to multi-year deals.
Brad Schneider has decided to stay at Redcliffe for an additional two years until the end of the 2028 season, while Tevita Naufahu has signed a two-year extension until the end of the 2029 season.
Naufahu's contract was initially set to end at the end of the 2027 season.
With more than half of the club's roster in limbo as they become off-contract at the end of next year, the club has made it a priority to keep Naufahu.
The 20-year-old is the first Dolphins player since the club joined the competition in 2023 to rise through the club's academy ranks and make it to their NRL roster.
He has made 15 appearances since making his debut in round 19 last season against the Cronulla Sharks, with seven appearances last season and eight this season.
Jamayne Isaako will leave after the Dolphins' finals campaign finishes and join the Melbourne Storm, while Herbie Farnworth, Jack Bostock and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow are expected to hit the open market on November 1.
It is understood that the Parramatta Eels and the St George Illawarra Dragons are interested in Bostock, and Tabuai-Fidow is expected to seek a deal making $1.4 million per season.
There have been reports linking Herbie Farnworth to the Sydney Roosters in 2028.
Brad Schneider's deal comes at a crucial time as the club lost Kodi Nikorima to the Dragons on a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old's extension boosts the club's halves depth for next season, as George Williams is set to head to Redcliffe in 2027, although the club has still not officially announced the signing.
Since joining the club from Penrith after winning a premiership in 2024, Schneider has become a reliable option for the Dolphins when they need someone to step in the halves.
This season, he has played in 13 games, scoring two tries, adding four try assists and six line breaks.
Dolphins CEO Terry Readers emphasised in the club's statement how important it was to keep Naufahu and Schneider as the club is currently playing in its first finals series.
“Tevita and Brad have both made important contributions to our team this season, and we are delighted to have them extend their time at the Dolphins,” said Reader.
“Tevita is only 20 years old and has already shown what he is capable of at NRL level. He has continued to develop throughout the year, and we are excited about what lies ahead for him.
“Brad has been a great addition to our squad and has shown his value every time he has taken the field. He has provided us with quality and depth in the halves and has made a real impact in his first season at the club.
“We are pleased to have both players committed to the Dolphins as we continue to build our squad for the seasons ahead.”
Naufahu's and Schneider's deals now have the Dolphins with 23 confirmed players for next season in their top 30.
The Dolphins defeated the New Zealand Warriors 26-16 in the first week of the finals and have a week off as they will host a preliminary final, now only one game away from playing in the grand final.
The Redcliffe-based side will face the winner of the Roosters-Sharks semi-final.
