Canterbury are looking to throw $2 million dollars over three years at Dylan Napa for next season and also West Tigers hooker Jacob Liddle for the 2020 season which has made the Tigers interested in Damien Cook, according to SMH.

With David Klemmer set to go to Newcastle, the Bulldogs have been linked to many front rowers in the league but Napa is their main priority.

Napa is at the Roosters till the end of 2019 and is currently on an overseas trip in the off season break. He is a valued member of the reigning premiers as they want him to stay a Rooster. But, if Napa can’t secure a long term deal that can set him up for life, then the prop is set to leave.

NSW teammate Mitchell Pearce has talked to Klemmer about teaming up at the Knights as he would become the second Kangaroos player to join the club after Darius Boyd. Both parties are hoping that the deals can get done before pre season training.

Bulldogs are also looking to sign Liddle as a long term hooker. Liddle was meant to be Farah’s replacement at the Tigers but with the return of Farah to the club have stopped him from doing that.

If the Tigers lose both Farah and Liddle, they will be going into next season’s market looking for a new hooker. Damien Cook has been linked with the club as he has a great relationship with newly appointed coach Michael Maguire.

Cook is wanting four million over five years to remain a Rabbitoh. He is a star who is on a modest salary next season. He currently holds the Kangaroos No. 9 jersey which was held by Australian great Cameron Smith.

The Bulldogs are also in talks with Ofahiki Ogden on a new two year deal.

  1. Cook could not be that dumb and sign with the tigers surely, Maquire refused to play him at Souths so Cook owe’s him nothing, hopefully he will resign when he gets back from his honeymoon

    • More worried about Cookie following Seibs, than Madge, Madge oblivious to his talent… (when every supporter I know was asking why on earth isn’t Madge playing Cookie once Bully left)…

      • I just read your post now mate after posting below. I agree there is by far a greater danger that Cook will want to follow Seibs and the Broncos have been freeing up a lot of space under the cap to help make this a real possibility.

My gut feeling is that Cook is very happy where he is at present but whether the greater part of that is because of Seibs or his team mates only “Cookie” knows.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that 3hats’ lack of concern is justified. Personally, I’m quite concerned IF nothing as yet has been signed by Cook. Look what happened with both Crichton and Seibold when they kept putting off their contract extensions.

I’d be very happy for 3hats to say “I told you so” on this one but to be honest, my fears are growing as each day passes.

        • The fact his new wife works at royal randwick as personal assistant to Vlandys suggests to me that going north will not be an option, he won’t sign with Wests , I believe 3 hats may be correct, plus there is no way Crowe will let him go, lets face it , he is more in the click with Souths than wests, if you get what i mean!

        • I really hope that proves to be the case penso mate. At least you have given me cause to hope. I just wish clubs wouldn’t play games announcing these signings to coordinate a membership drive. It gives me the sh!ts and it makes me nervous.

The last two times we waited this long Souths lost Crichton and then Seibold.

        • Penso my best and most precious fellow South Sydney Rabbit follower. Cook will be staying, You can be reassured his future remains at our club and beyond. We have very similar thought patterns. Napa will not be arriving at our glorious club any time soon. Money required to maintain our stars is paramount before importing premiership winning Roosters.

    • Zero tackle, I have asked Russ crower to not mention me in his posts but continues to do so, Zero tackle needs to make a decision on this bloke who I believe is mentally unstable, he has posted that he really is Russell Crowe under the Maquire to cowboys article, that is really sick, you guys need to ban him cause he adds nothing to this site, just one sick puppy.

        • You and Reg should hook up i reckon Danielle sparks would fly, fatal attraction, both you two chatting until the wee hours of the morning says perhapes this could be a goer, but in saying that perhaps your Russ Crower cause both you guys don’t contribute a great deal to this site to be honest, i have spoken to Reg privately about whether he would like to meet you and see where that goes but i reserve the right to keep confidential his response.

        • Yet another passive-aggressive sniping comment from the longest-serving tr0ll on this site. You never learn do you danielle?

I remember when this site once got shutdown for over a week because of a foul-mouthed tirade of yours just because sstid got the better of you and you couldn’t take. Please don’t put your ego ahead of allowing this site to run as it should, without your continual interference through sniping comments, attempts at censorship and pushing your social agenda. We are all sick of your bitterness and negativity and a few recent posts to try to adjust your image on this site will not fool anybody.

        • Typical! danielle the sad little c0ckroach. HA HA HA HA HA

Hey Milton, you left a word off one of your sentences. The queen of the corrective red pen must be itching to pull you up for that. Start your stop watch and see how long it takes her to build herself up by putting you down. Come on danielle, you know you want to. It’s about the only contribution you make around here.

        • @ penso

penso because it’s clear that you have a vicarious fascination over this twisted ONE WAY obsession by my greatest “groupie” I will make MY position clear so in this instance my response was not confidential. In response to a clear “chat up line”:

Thought you “could keep this up all night,” Reg (?). Seeing as YOU set the tone, you seem to have gone a little limp (???)

          My immediate response was:

Reg Reagan November 14, 2018 at 12:21 am
Gone “limp”? Now who is being inappropriate? …this should be the LAST exchange between us. Like I keep telling you, I’m happily married and have a business to run as well. So it is NEVER going to happen. OK?

I stand by that statement penso and by my other statement that night:

Reg Reagan November 14, 2018 at 12:31 am
Try to participate in a meaningful and relevant way or retire to the back benches where you have played the Tony Abb0tt role for too long now. If you truly care about the site like you say you do then back off and stay on your own side of the fence… Now, let it end here.

Reg Reagan November 14, 2018 at 12:52 am
So that’s it. I’m now done with you. What you do now is up to you “Casper” but the LAST person who acknowledged you on this site is finally closing the door. Just stay out of everyone’s way…

I have nothing more to say to a “ghost”.

      • Penso, free speech is a privilege our forefathers fought hard to retain during World War 2. Had the Japanese successfully invaded our great land Australia, then free speech would not be available to any.

Perhaps China or Russia under the previous “Iron Curtain” is a more suitable residence for your priorities in life to attain ultra happiness. North Korea with “Rocket Man” just may be the ideal holiday destination for you. On your return perhaps you will be more enlightened how important free speech actually is.

Now Penso I here Cook is potentially on the move towards Brisbane with his mentor Seibold. This could be the reversal of Bennett and Darius.

  2. Firstly, they may not yet realise it but the Tigers already have their future hooker in Josh Reynolds. He is also a leader and an inspirational player but he needs to work on his self-discipline.

I really hope that Souths wrap Cook up long-term because a LOT of clubs would be keen on him. I just hope that “Cookie” hasn’t grown too attached to Seibold because with their awesome young forwards he would be a perfect fit for the Broncos and a real missing piece in the puzzle that presently they don’t have covered.

IMO retaining Cook is a far higher priority than worrying about TPJ or any other Broncos players coming to Souths.

IF Souths miss out on TPJ and he signs long-term I hope Souths make a play for Napa freeing Sam up to play in the back row on the right edge where he started.

Souths will still need to recruit a couple of good young back rowers though to replace Crichton and Sutton (as yet unsigned for 2019) but due to retire by the end of 2019 in any case.

  3. Who writes this garbage? If a player goes to a club and leaves a vacant spot, then all the hacks have a guess at who should fill the vacancy, then who should fill that vacancy etc. Then to add spice to their story they bring in the coaches and which player loves which coach etc.

Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.

  4. Napa who has been at the club since a 17yr old will be loyal to the Roosters who have developed him into a good footy player and a good man. He has won a premiership played origin and at 26 will be just starting to peak as a front rower. The Roosters need to retain him and tie him into a long term contract, more premierships will follow for him at the Roosters and soon he could be in the Australian test team with some powerhouse performances with the Roosters next season. Uncle Nick don’t we have him signed for 2019 and we need him. 🐔🐓🐔🐓

    • I believe woody that if Napa goes it will be a big hole to fill, i rate this guy, wish Souths could get him, but, if he goes to Canterbury that buries your theory on wanting premierships over money , he probably thinks , and rightly so, that Easts have had their day in the sun and now time to move on, makes sense cause there have been better premiership teams that could not back up next year than this current Easts side.

      • Not sure about that Penso, There is a theory being sung around town that if Cooper Cronk can win us a premiership with one arm then how good will he be with two arms in next season’s semi-finals. Look we all no that it is near impossible to go back to back but if Napa stays for the completion of his contract I think the Roosters have a very good chance of doing what Melbourne have done in reaching another grand final after winning the year before.

Of coarse every thing has to fall into place with form injuries and suspensions but with a new crop of kids getting better each year like Mitchell, Manu, Collins, Butcher and a really good young talent in front rower Fammausili, I Think they are going to give it a real shot.

I believe Napa will stay on like Crighton did at Souths and try to win another because if he departs to a team like the rebuilding Dogs, then he will not play in another grand final. It could take 6 or 7 years for the Dogs to get a premiership side together. He is in America with all his Rooster best mates, when he comes back I cant see him wanting out, if the Chooks are paying him 550k do you think he wants to get flogged every week for 3yrs for 650k per year nd miss out on being with the club that has given him everything. Sure money talks but money isn’t every thing.

If the Bulldogs are going to pay 650k per season for Napa then that is more than they are paying for Klemmer, They need to release players not sign players and pay more. This is another media beat up, Klemmer🧐 is reportedly only on 550 per season after negotiating his current deal. Napa is smart enough to realise that if he walks away over money his playing days of enjoyment are over and he is walking into a club that is even tighter on cash and won’t feature in the semis. Which in turn will effect his Origin chances and kill off any hope of an Aussie Jersey.

Like I said before over a lousy 100k or a tiny bit more is it really worth the cost when you weigh everything up and look at the big picture.

        • What if the offer to Napa is another crazy one ? Like the 1.3 million per season offered to Klemmer. Or even close to that.
Napa would not be able to pack his gear up quick enough.
Who says the Bulldogs would make the only offer to him?

      • Not sure about that Penso, There is a theory being sung around town that if Cooper Cronk can win us a premiership with one arm then how good will he be with two arms in next season’s semi-finals. Look we all no that it is near impossible to go back to back but if Napa stays for the completion of his contract I think the Roosters have a very good chance of doing what Melbourne have done in reaching another grand final after winning the year before.

        • Wood chook
So to inform fellow rooster supporters but Napa has verbally agreed with the dogs will sign when he gets back

Also uncle Nick has a love hate relationship with Napa and we wont miss a beat with Lindsay Collins one thing I like about Napa is that the games against Souths he always lifts BUT going missing in other big games

    • I’m not entirely convinced by him. Personally, I’d see him go if we were to get Taupau in instead. Napa’s been relegated to the bench as of the start of 2018, and no longer has that ‘boom’ factor he had when he was bursting onto the scene. He’s had his time at easts. It could be time to freshen up,

  5. “NSW teammate Mitchell Pearce has talked to Klemmer about teaming up at the Knights as he would become the second Kangaroos player to join the club after Darius Boyd.”

So are they saying Boyd is the only Kangaroos player to EVER sign with Newcastle? Beau Scott played for Australia with the Knights and Dragons, so why isn’t he up there? Pretty sure there have been many other test players who have signed with the Knights but haven’t played a test while in Newcastle (i.e Willie Mason). Propaganda journalism at its finest- who needs facts when you can get a point across!!!
