The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed the extent of the injury suffered to forward Andre Savelio during the trial match against the Central Capras on the weekend.

Savelio will require a knee reconstruction and is likely to miss the entire season.

The 22-year-old signed with the Broncos on a two-year deal after spending 2017 with the Warrington Wolves.

He was expected to be part of the forward rotation for the Broncos this season and his injury will be a major blow.

Broncos’ High Performance Manager Jeremy Hickmans has confirmed the diagnosis on the injury to English forward Andre Savelio.

Savelio injured his knee playing for the Broncos against the Central Capras in Theodore on the weekend.

He will require a knee reconstruction which will end his year.

It is a tough turn of events for Savelio, who only joined the Broncos in the pre-season and was just 14 minutes into his first match for the club.

  1. How bad is Pony land going. They have an entire capital city to themselves and they still cant produce their own players. Andre Savelio England, Bird, Cronulla, Korbin Sims Newcastle, Millford, Canberra, Matthew Lodge Wests Tigers, Roberts Gold Coast. Didn’t those Queensland clowns try to tell everyone a few years ago that Queensland is the capital of Rugby League. Have a look at the Townsville Cowboys. Half their side wasn’t even born in Queensland.

    • If you had known what you’re talking about, you’d know Korbin Sims is from the Broncos system. Also you’ve only mentioned 5 players in the squad that the broncos haven’t produced whereas failing to mention the players they have. Boyd, Kahu, Oates, Sims, McCullough, McGuire, Glenn, Gillette, Thaiday, Nikorima, Ofahengaue, Fai, Sua, Pearson, Opacic, Fifita, Allan, Flegler and Shibasaki. They’ve produced many of their top squad, you just made yourself look like an idiot lol

  2. Very devastating news for a very talented player. I’ll add tho that this does open up the door for a few of the younger guys who were behind this guy in the pecking order. Fifita is a guy who’ll most definitely make his debut this year when he turns 18. Him, Haas, Flegler and Carrigan will get a run this season.

  3. Yea bad luck young bloke , brizy looking good in the forwards this year tho.

Dont know Y people have to talk sh#t about the Broncos ,if half of them had any clue they know we been talks of other teams 4 years . It’s not Brisbane its the NRL not making it happen.
It would be good 2 c the kids in Queensland look after there own backyard dce , Norman, Napa , Gagai. An have a look every Sydney base team has young qld talant. That should b playing up here.
